Mako's Fish and Chips — Restaurant in Melbourne

The shop is run by a rude obnoxious woman, her equally rude husband and an extremely rude order taker. If you want soggy miserable fish and chips. This is for you. Add in being treated poorly. When I attempted to raise the food quality issues, I was lectured and told that’s how it is, then being told ‘it’s busy’. ‘Thats why the food is not as good as usual’ LETS BE CLEAR. THIS MAY BE THE WRONG BUSINESS FOR YOU. And being abused for asking for a refund by the shop owners and a school age server, just completed the experience.

See the picture. This is $10 of chips by the way from the last visit. Tried again. How silly of me. Oil is filthy. Fish is paper thing and miserable. Do your self a favour....

The most discussing fish n chip shop I don’t think they know what they are doing the souvlaki meat was almost rotten drowned in spices and salt to cover the foul dry yuk tast was bloody disgusting 4 souvlaki in the trash the chips were reheated like card board and dim soms stunk like they had been reheated over and over do not believe any of the good reviews on here we live on other side of Melbourne or else I would of driven back and tossed it at the owners head 50$ it cost me my advice buy pizza from Italians and fish n chips from Greeks if I ever drive thru ferntree gully again I will be stopping to...

We only recently found this place.

We used to go to The Crispy Catch at Mountain Gate, but ever since it got sold to new owners it really sucks. Anyway forget about TCC, Mako's is better in every way!

As soon as you walk in to Mako's you see how clean the place is, it's among the best I've ever seen.

Their Charcoal Lamb Souvlaki's are incredible, the flavor and tenderness of the meat is heavenly, and even though I'm not a huge Chip person, their Chips are very good.

Highly Recommended.
