Master Of None — Restaurant in Melbourne

I was hoping for a delicious toastie and hot beverage for lunch as it sounded tempting especially in winter. However my latte was weak and the toastie never arrived. I gave up and left after a lengthy wait. They simply forgot to make my order. It was my first time here and despite the empty seats the service was just terrible. Wouldn't go back.

Update: I requested a latte and a Balkan toastie. The wait staff repeated the order. Unfortunately someone had forgotten to put my order through with no follow up. Mistakes such as this can happen. But I never ordered just a coffee, that is definitely a misunderstanding.

Firstly, I am so grateful when people make an effort to say my name correctly. So thank you to all the different staff I have encountered who do this and ask how to pronounce it. Secondly, I am so bloody happy you guys open before I head off to work, really is the best way to start my day. It’s been a rough few months for all of us, and going to work in a demanding field (healthcare) and having that tiny bit of normal human interaction before really helps! The coffee was good and the café itself was beautifully designed. I ordered the chicken toast, which tasted good, but it had very little chicken—mostly avocado and greens on toast. For $17, it felt a bit overpriced for what was essentially just toast and avocado. My friend ordered the smashed avocado, but it wasn’t really smashed—just chopped avocado—and they didn’t have poached eggs, only a boiled one, which was disappointing.
