Essie Wine Bar — Restaurant in Melbourne

In the land of wine and grapes so divine, There's a bar that's truly one of a kind. Its name is Essie, and its owner Angus, Are the talk of the town, let me tell you this.

As I walked in, I felt like a kid, Entering a candy store, oh so well hid. The cozy atmosphere, it warmed my heart, The perfect place for a drink and a start.

Angus greeted me with a friendly hello, And offered a seat, in a tone so mellow. He showed me the menu, full of wines so fine, And I knew I was in for a treat, so divine.

I sipped on a red, so smooth and refined, And couldn't resist the urge to opine. "This wine is so good, it's like a work of art," Angus just smiled and said, "that's just the start."

He brought out some cheese, so creamy and rich, And crackers so crisp, I felt like a snitch. But with Angus' hospitality so warm, I knew I had found my new favorite norm.

Tables really small if seated near the fireplace with 5 people. If you end up ordering food, there will be little to no room for anything on those tables. Kept dropping things and needing to reshuffle everything which was frustrating. The toilet doors!! Come on guys, you make more than enough money to get those doors fixed. A friend called me from the toilet in the downstairs section, because she was locked in. The door handle wouldn’t engage the latch but only worked from the outside. The other toilet doesn’t lock. There’s a sign on it warning people to knock. A guy walks right in while I was in there. Just not a great experience. Lovely staff, average food,...

Nice wine bar with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Good selection of drinks and attentive service. This was my second time here and both times the food was average. Today's serve of popcorn chicken was embarrassingly small, like battered crumbs smaller than the size of 5 cent pieces. And the carpaccio wasn't much better. Travelled from a few suburbs away to get there, but will give it a miss for a while after today's experience...
