Oh my goodness what has happened to this place. We went there last night and took some friends, it's our neighbourhood local. Half our group are chefs from India and it was embarrassing. They used the SAME curry base for 3 different meat curries. Apparently some coconut sprinkled on top makes the curry Madras curry 🫣 The Tandoori paneer was not from a tandoor, no skewer holes. They Manchurian was bland. But the real kicker was crazy heartburn and tummy upsets from everyone today. It wasn't always like this! Time to stop being lazy with the curries or cut down on your menu items instead of taking these shortcuts. Don't douse the food in oil and let the fresh ingredients do the talking.

Just editing this review because the Masti restaurant team said they reached out to us in response but we have not heard from them (?). Blaming our stomach upset on green chillies is a bit rich 😂 One of us is from Hyderabad so he eats green chillies like it's going out of fashion. The rest of us didn't. Plus it looks like we aren't the only people who've experienced upset tummies after eating here going by your other reviews. We re ordered the paneer because the first time it came with some sort of paste or gravy, so we ordered it the second time but minus the gravy. I'm not saying the paneer was bad, but it was not cooked in a Tandoor. And apologies, we didn't order Manchurian - the Malabar prawn curry (half of us are Keralites) had no curry leaves even. If you're making distinct curry bases, then I gotta say they all taste very similar.

But look, I would be keen to have a conversation because we had been bringing friends Masti and supporting the business...

Poor customer service! We were having a good experience until we ordered a mango and pistachio kulfi (dessert). The waiting staff made a mistake and brought out 2 pistachio kulfis instead (which we only realised after taking a bite out of each). We told the staff of the mistake and they said they will bring out a mango kulfi instead and at no point did they request the extra pistachio kulfi back (which we didn't end up finishing anyway).

The big shock came when we went to pay the bill only to realise that we had been charged for the extra pistachio kulfi that we had NOT ordered. We brought this up with the staff but were told we still had to pay. Confused as to why that would be the case when it was a mistake on their part we asked them to clarify with the owner but got the same response.

Wow!

I guess there is a first for everything. In all our years of dining, never before had we experienced a scenario where we have had to pay for someone else's mistake. Fair enough mistakes happen...that's not the issue...and neither is the $8 for a kulfi when we had already spent close to $300 for dinner. The real issue is not owning up to your mistake and rather expecting the customer to foot the bill.

It's a shame really as the food was mostly good and prior to this incident we most probably would have come back / recommended to our friends...but not any more. Maybe a lesson...

Came here for the 3rd time last week with friends. Despite having been twice before when it was quiet & quite recently was met with very unfriendly attitude from the male & female staff. The restaurant was empty and I was asked if I had a booking. I advised I had phoned an hour earlier and been told that I didn't need to make a booking. After the waitress went through her booking diary we were eventually shown to the smallest table in the corner by the window. There was honestly no room to put glasses on the table never mind any food. I asked to be moved to a larger table & again despite the restaurant still being empty was reluctantly given a larger table. Waited a long time for waitress to come to the table and when I asked to order she rudely pointed at the QR Code menus. The food was average - very mild and actually very expensive for what it was but the rude & unfriendly service throughout was appalling. It was actually quite embarrassing that I had told my friends I had been twice before & to then be treated with such contempt. They honesty made us feel like they were doing us a favour & it was an inconvenience for us to be in their restaurant. I love going out to support hospitality after everything we have been through with 6 lockdowns etc but I will not be spending any more money here again & sadly would not recommend...
