The Evelyn Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

I recently visited this place and had an unfortunate experience. I ordered a schooner and went outside to find a table. Unfortunately, someone had left their leftovers on the table, which attracted a swarm of birds. Seconds later, the birds flew up and did its business into my glass, completely ruining my drink.

I spoke to the lady at the bar, hoping they would replace it, but she refused, saying I would have to buy a new one. I understand they may have policies, but considering the situation was completely out of my control, I expected a bit more understanding and customer service.

While the atmosphere and drinks seemed decent otherwise, this experience definitely left a sour taste. I hope they consider being more accommodating in situations like this...

I just went there ( friday 12:15 am) with 3 more girlfriends looking for some friends inside and the guard grabbed us by the arm, kicking us out saying it was closed when it was clearly open and our friends were drinking inside.The guard was very rude ( he used bad words and showed us the finger) We were all sober and just asked him not touch us. Dude with glasses and a hat on is most certainly The Rudest of the bartenders that I’ve ever came across. Ruined my whole night. I’ve been a regular for many years now. Staff used to be lovely and very welcoming but not any more. Don’t want to share on here that how he made me feel but it was not a pleasant experience at all. All I can say is I hope that I was the last person who was made to feel so belittled while getting served at the bar. Never coming...
