The Most Disgustingly Rude and Unpleasant Experience of My Life
I would like to share what has just been the most disgustingly rude and unpleasant experience of my life.
I am well aware that a mere Google review will not make the slightest dent in a global corporation like McDonald’s.
Today was an exceptionally hot day. Being a fan of McDonald’s fries and Oreo Sundaes, I decided to stop by for the $3 special deal.
A chocolate fudge sundae and a small chips.
After a short wait, I received my order. However, the taste of the ice cream was completely different from what I had expected. The sauce drizzled over the ice cream was unmistakably salty—it tasted exactly like barbecue sauce.
I went back to the counter and spoke to someone who appeared to be the manager (he was wearing a checkered shirt and black trousers—his own clothes, not a uniform).
Me: “What’s the sauce on the ice cream?” Him: “Fudge.” Me: “Really? But it tastes salty—it seems like barbecue sauce to me.”
When he handed me my order, his expression had been completely neutral, but as soon as I spoke to him, his face changed. He looked at me with an irritated and contemptuous expression, as if I were some lunatic talking nonsense.
Him: “It’s chocolate fudge.” Me: “And what is it supposed to taste like? Shouldn’t it be sweet? But this tastes salty.”
Without even checking the ice cream I handed to him, he just wanted me to go away.
Only when I insisted that it tasted wrong did he finally pump some syrup from the chocolate fudge container and sniff it. That was when he realised that something was indeed off.
Then, without a single word, he simply walked away.
Meanwhile, a female employee standing nearby giggled.
What I had expected from customer service was: “You’re right, someone must have put the wrong sauce in. I’m sorry.”
I didn’t need an explanation or any kind of excuse. Just: “I apologise.”
But instead, they left me standing there for well over five minutes without any acknowledgment, disappearing into the back of the store.
Eventually, the checkered-shirt man reappeared and began taking other customers’ orders as if nothing had happened.
I was standing right at the front of the counter, yet he didn’t even mention what had happened to my ice cream or what they were going to do about it.
It took more than ten minutes for another staff member, wearing the standard uniform, to hand me a new ice cream.
Not once did they apologise.
McDonald’s, what an outstanding team you have.
I suppose when you’re busy satisfying millions of customers worldwide, there’s simply no room for basic customer service for someone who only ordered a $3 ice cream, is there?
The world is changing fast.
Nothing lasts forever. One day, your competitors might overtake you, and you may find yourselves fading into history.
Never forget that the only reason your business continues to thrive is because of your customers.
This is the absolute foundation of the service industry. And any business that cannot uphold even the most basic standards has no future.
Goodbye, McDonald’s. I will not...
Read moreMcDonald's Doncaster has to be one of the worst outlets of the franchise around --- and judging by a lot of the reviews, I wouldn't be the only one to think this.
Months ago, I ordered hamburgers that were only half cooked. They were still pink and slightly cold. My worst experiences are w/ plain hamburgers, I suspect staff don't like making them for some reason. I didn't return them, who could be bothered to return when you're already out the store?; it just adds wasted time to an already bad experience.
Today, I thought I'd try my luck as I was pressed for time and was looking to save a few dollars. However, I was getting bad vibes looking at who was on staff --- you can just tell from looking at the staff as to when you're going to get bad service and/or bad meals. Don't ask me how, you'll just know by looking at them.
Today,
I couldn't recommend this McDonald's outlet any less. It's put me off McDonald's altogether --- probably for the best.
I won't try and convince you - just try...
Read moreYou wouldn't believe it: I placed an online order at Doncaster Westfield McDonald's and went to pick it up after more than 20 minutes, only to be told confidently that I needed to order again because they had thrown my original order in the trash. I ordered online at 2:34 PM, and arrived at exactly 2:55 PM, 21 minutes later, to pick up my order. After a male and a female employee confirmed my order and its contents, another male employee, after a moment of consideration, seriously told me, "You were almost 30 minutes late. We threw your food in the trash."
At first, I couldn't believe my ears. I've ordered takeout from so many places like Uber Eats, Domino pizza,Panda Express, etc., and never have I heard that if you are more than 20 minutes late, your food gets thrown in the trash!
When I asked to see the policy list, this male employee told me there was no such clause in the policy. So I want to ask, "What gives you the right to throw away my order and confidently tell me that if I want to eat, I need to order again?" What??
This service and response blew my mind! It was appalling! This kind of treatment is shocking, and I urge everyone to be aware of such service practices. It's terrifying!
What's wrong with fast...
