McDonald’s Fawkner is the most unprofessional, poorly run, and straight-up disrespectful store I’ve ever stepped foot in. All we ordered were two salted caramel frappes and somehow got thrown into the waiting bay for 15 minutes. Not even food — just drinks. While waiting, we noticed a line of other cars also being dumped in the bay for basic orders. Not big family meals, not custom menus — just normal stuff that somehow this store can’t seem to handle without sending everyone to sit and wait forever.
While we were inside trying to get napkins (because the self-serve station was empty), my sister stood at the counter waiting patiently while I went to the bathroom. When I came back, she was still waiting. Not helped. Not acknowledged, just looked at by workers (They would look at her and turn around). Also there was a lady standing there looking so tired from who was there from before we entered waiting for her order looking so tired and you would of thought she ordered 3 family meals but once it came time for them to call her order it was ONE SINGULAR McCafe drink, UTTER DISBELIEF. And by the time another 10 minutes passed, we never got the napkins at all — because the manager chased us out of the store and threatened to call the police. Why? Because I stepped ONE foot into the open staff walkway area to get their attention after being ignored for way too long. I didn’t go into the kitchen. I didn’t touch anything. I simply wanted someone to help — which apparently is too much to ask at this store.
The manager, wearing a blue button-up shirt (not the regular McDonald's uniform), had a big nose, an eagle-like face, wore a headset, and spoke with a noticeable accent. He came out acting aggressive, confrontational, and completely unprofessional. Instead of de-escalating the situation, he made everything worse — yelling, chasing us out, and throwing around threats like we were criminals instead of customers just trying to get napkins.
One of the worst parts is the attitude from one specific staff member: a female worker in a red McDonald’s shirt, black hijab, monobrow, black arm sleeves, and also with a thick accent. She was the one who brought our drinks to the waiting bay and instead of simply handing them over, she started questioning us — like she didn’t believe we ordered them. She only had one item in her hand OUR TWO DRINKS, yet somehow acted like there was confusion, questioning us on what we had ordered but putting it in front of our face once telling her we ordered the frappes she said which flavour as if it wasn't obvious and any person could say it to her. This is the same worker who threw straws at us on a previous visit. Her disrespect and lack of customer service is beyond belief, and yet she’s still working there, continuing to treat people (PAYING CUSTOMERS) like garbage.
To top it all off, this store is just disgusting. The kitchen looked like no one has cleaned it in years — melted ice cream all over the floor, hot fudge smeared across the containers, and an overall vibe like health codes just don’t exist here. It honestly felt dirty just standing nearby. It’s a place that makes you lose your appetite before you even get your food.
If you care at all about service, hygiene, or being treated like a human being, avoid McDonald’s Fawkner at all costs. Rude staff, a hostile manager, horrible service, and a filthy environment. This place should be inspected, retrained, and restructured — because right now, it’s an...
Read moreI left McDonald’s Fawkner feeling humiliated, disrespected, and absolutely broken. If I could give this place negative stars I would. What should’ve been a simple stop turned into one of the most degrading, pathetic “service” experiences of my life. First of all, I had my sister with me ordering for a big family of six. I pull into the drive-thru and the first thing the worker says is “what” — no hello, no how are you, nothing. I ignore the rudeness, politely place my huge order, and she has the audacity to respond with “oof.” I finish, she interrupts with “are you done yet?” in the most dismissive tone possible. I pay in cash, she rolls her eyes, snatches it out of my hand like I owed her money, then snaps at me to drive forward. When I finally get to the window, I’m greeted by the devil herself — an Indian girl in a hijab with a monobrow, black sleeves and red Macca’s shirt. She barks at me to go to the waiting bay. Fine. But I end up sitting there for 45 minutes. For “fast” food? Outrageous. When she finally brings the food, she throws it through my window and rudely questions me, as if it was impossible I’d ordered that much. And then — shocker — three burgers are missing. At the same time, my sister goes to get napkins because the dispenser and straws are EMPTY. She stands there being blatantly ignored, workers making eye contact and then walking away like she didn’t exist. I went to the bathroom for 5 minutes, came back, and she was still standing there napkin-less, still invisible to staff. So I poke my head slightly through the open walkway just to get someone’s attention — and suddenly it’s like I’ve committed a crime. The so-called “manager” — not even in a proper uniform, wearing a blue button-up, headset, thick accent, big nose, and the face of an angry eagle — comes charging at me screaming like a maniac, telling me I have no place being there. He grabs at me, threatens to call the cops, and chases me out like I broke into their safe. All of this over napkins and missing food. I was shaking, heart pounding, completely humiliated, and ended up crying in front of everyone. And that same rude hijab-wearing staff member has disrespected me before — previously throwing straws at us and acting like customers are liars. Yet she’s still employed, which says everything about how rotten the management is. On top of all that, the store itself is disgusting — sticky floors, sour smells, fudge smeared everywhere, melted ice cream pooling, surfaces greasy enough to leave your hand shining. It’s like no one has cleaned in months. The whole place radiates filth and disrespect. What should’ve been a normal meal ended with me humiliated, hungry, and disrespected...
Read moreI rarely visit this McDonalds but as it happened I was in the area and wanted to redeem my monopoly prize of a coffee so attempted to access the code at the kiosk. For an unknown reason my attempt only prompted a message saying that the McDonalds monopoly App had stopped working so I approached the counter and explained what I wanted to do and the trouble I was having to be told that the McDonalds promotion had ended and my prizes were no longer available.
I told the young checkout attendant that I should be able to claim my prizes up until 25th of October and would like to see the manager to see what could be done and reluctantly he came over to help (or so I hoped ) At first he tried to dismiss my claim saying that the promotion had ended even as it was being displayed on the screen behind him but became defensive when I pointed out that I could claim up until the 25th of October. Anyway I asked what I could do as it was clear when I showed him my phone displaying the prizes and all he could say was it was an online problem and I should get in touch with the McDonalds IT department to sort it out. I was not happy with his response and while he was dealing with my concern I witnessed at least 3 other customers experiencing problems of their own .
One had been overcharged for something, one had been given the wrong order and the other was missing something from their order all of which happened in the roughly 10 to 15 minutes I was there.
His face mask was also under his nose the entire time, which seems to be extra problematic for someone working with food.
This manager Fabian was very unprofessional in his handling of not only my concern but also the other 3 customers that had complaints about the level of service that had been received and demonstrated to me that he was not in control and his lack of knowledge (at least in my case) about how to resolve this problem has ultimately led me to go to the trouble of writing this review. In the end he was only interested in getting me to leave and as he became more agitated he tried to justify his own aggressive behavior by trying to make me angry and suggested that he would like me to leave the premises . I indicated that he was not being helpful and as a manager he should have been able to help me with the problem with the app instead of dismissing me and ignoring the concern and treating me like a nuisance rather than a valued customer.
I then left and got on with my day but am unlikely to return to this particular McDonalds for a very long time. I only hope that he was just having a bad day and that this is not his...
