The service at McDonald’s Rowville during the day is generally consistent with the brand’s global standards—friendly, efficient, and respectful. However, the night shift is the complete opposite. After years of giving them the benefit of the doubt, I’ve finally had enough.
On 29/6/25, I ordered a quarter pounder with no pickles and a large fry, specifically asking for it to be made fresh. When I got home, not only was the food clearly not fresh, but the burger contained three pickles—despite my clear request. I reluctantly drove back to have it corrected, and this is where things truly spiraled.
I was met with a staff member who not only showed zero professionalism, but also gave me attitude for daring to return a wrong order. Instead of apologising, he said, “I don’t make the burgers, I take the orders”, and proceeded to be dismissive, arrogant, and confrontational, even telling me I was “rambling” and encouraging me to leave a bad review. That’s not just bad service—it’s actively hostile behaviour.
Eventually, a Caucasian manager stepped in and handled the situation properly—apologised, remade the food, and gave me a voucher. Unfortunately, when I got home and started eating the replacement burger, it also had pickles.
Here’s where I speak not just as a customer, but as an Indian myself. I say this with full awareness and responsibility: the Indian night shift team at this McDonald’s is giving our community a bad name. These individuals are earning 5 to 10 times more than they would back home in India, working in a country that offers better pay, better working conditions, and a better life. And yet, instead of showing gratitude or professionalism, they treat paying customers with disrespect, laziness, and arrogance.
This has nothing to do with race—it has everything to do with standards and accountability. When a group of staff repeatedly gets orders wrong, shows no care or apology, and acts like the customer is the problem, it reflects a broken internal culture.
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, because I know the impact they can have. But when a franchise consistently fails its customers, something has to be said. McDonald’s Australia, I strongly urge you to review the performance, training, and behaviour of the night shift team at Rowville. They are damaging your brand and failing your loyal customers.
I have attached photo evidence with time stamps of both incorrect burgers from the same night to support this review.

Read moreWorst experience ever, and going downhill fast. We went on a Friday night at 7pm, it was very quiet for a Friday night. Before the car even came to a stop at the window to receive our order, we were told to park in the waiting bay. We waited over 5 minutes to receive our order by a girl who looked so bored and was busy dragging her feet to the car to give us the order. We were missing our kids meal so we had to go in to get the kids meal. When we got home we then found out that one of our fries were missing as well, the fries we did receive were just thrown into the bag so half of the contents were emptied into the bag, we were also missing the sauce for our nuggets as well as a straw for our drink ( not unexpected though let's be honest.) Every item of food was just thrown into the bag, one cheesburger was unwrapped laying in the bag with the ingredients just slapped together. All of the burgers ordered was just slapped together without a care in the world. Food was cold. Pickles in the burger may as well not even have been in there, they were that tiny. Almost 60 bucks spent and all items thrown into just 1 bag when realistically they should have been put into 2 bags. If your going to instantly park people, atleast make it worth the wait to actually pack it properly and have everything in there, we are already waiting, may as well make us wait the extra few minutes to make sure the order is correct. A toddler would do a better job of making the food and ensuring that the orders are correct. Your a disgrace Rowville, we'll start travelling further to get the service we are entitled to when we spend close to 60 bucks on it. I wouldn't even feed my non existent dog the crap we were served tonight or my worst enemy. Retrain...
Read moreVisiting this store was a real embarrassment for the Rowville McDonalds site. After being refused redeeming a free small fries promo I asked to see management and from here the lack of training and professionalism shone through. The manager Isaac came out and seemingly brought his little guard dog assistant Hannah (assistant manager) with him.
Isaacs arrogance and lack of understanding of his own companies promo was not just an embarrassment to himself but to the store owner who pays his wage. After pointing out multiple times the process of redeeming the promo offer (and I have NEVER had a problem before) his immature assistant Hannah sniggered and snickered and smuggly smiled at Isaacs ridiculous replies. Hannah humiliated herself by acting like a little puppy dog rather than showing any leadership qualities of the position she holds. Infact Hannah contributed NOTHING to the resolution other than being smug and battering her eye lids at every word Isaac said. Hannah was almost treating her position as a joke and with contempt.
After stating Isaac had no understanding of his own companies promo and also lacked integrity in dealing with customers he claimed he was offended..... and then Isaacs lack of integrity truly shone when I was driving off and like a little child he claimed I had run over his foot.
Not only does Isaac have zero understanding of his companies promo, Isaac needs re-training in how to provide customer service and nothing can be said about Hannah as she lacks any leadership or customer service skills whatsoever and seems to be nothing more than Isaacs little yes girl. A truly embarrassing...
