I have previously tried the food here, although being a few years ago I found it quite pleasant. As my Indian pallet differs quite a lot when it comes to different restaurants. So overall pretty decent. Yet it was a very long time ago, so cannot judge now.
What I can judge, is the disgusting customer service I received just now. And I did not even get to try their food again! So, I drove passed and being late (22:30) I was suprised their open flashing and door signs were switched to 'OPEN'. So I checked and on the door said '5 till Late'. Naturally I was very pleased.
I looked at their online Menu while I sat outside in my vehicle for over fifteen minutes. All the while both signs were clearly still 'OPEN' with lights on inside. Naturally I decided to call and and try to narrow down my order and obviously place it. However, once someone answered I asked about the 'Mango Chicken', to which I was asked "pickup or delivery?" "Pickup" I answered. She asks someone something in presumably Hindi, to which she replies to myself "sorry you cannot order, we are closed". Clearly pissed off at this point I explain that I am sitting in front of the restaurant and ther 'Open' light and signs are both on. Not to mention the lights. She again tells myself that they are closed and we are finishing, to which I explain that I sat and waited for fifteen minutes while everything showed they were open. Silence... then a Male voice attends to explain "sorry we are finished now" I again told them well if that is the case, then why leave everything showing they are open. And after explaining my anger at their customer service and that they are open, all of a sudden someone quickly turns off all the lights, including the 'Open' sign.
Why? They clearly were open still. As their lights and signs legally displayed to myself that they were still Open and serving food. So, it is apparent the cook who said "no food" could not be bothered cooking another meal for myself at that time (22:46).
So dissapointed that they would resort to such sneaky methods to pretend the were not open. Especially turning everything off all of a sudden so they did not have myself walking in let alone making an order.
I will never purchase from this restaurant again! Not like I got a chance to this time. However, it is very poor practice to deceit your potential customer, just because you cbf making one more curry.
TERRIBLE! AVOID (Based on the fact that they are so prepared to avoid making food for customers even though the hours say 'late'...
Read moreIt's never hard to find vegetarian options at Indian restaurants, but because so many dishes have dairy in them - finding VEGAN isn't so easy. Except here! We are SO HAPPY to see they had a FULL VEGAN MENU. Granted, you have to ask for it but once we had it, we didn't feel like we were ordering off some one-page reduction of the menu, it was a couple of pages and felt like we were ordering off a proper full menu! We started off with their Samosas - they were tasty (and not oily as some can be at other places) and perfectly complemented with their tangy tamarind chutney! Because we're not used to having so many VEGAN options to choose from, we decided to try a heap of curries and just take home the left-overs. So we tried their Potato & Spinach, Mixed Vegetables, Potato & Pea curries, as well as the recommended "so new it's not on the menu" dish which was recommended by the chef -- a spicy Jackfruit & Curry Leaves 'dry' style curry -- and all of them were really tasty! The faves were the mixed vegetable and potato & spinach, but we enjoyed the intense curry-leaves and spiciness of the Jackfruit! Everything went down well with our plain rice and wholemeal paratha! Interior was clean, pretty standard for the local suburban Indian restaurant - you can see little touches of effort and care in the decor - which was nice. If you're plant-based or just want a meatless dinner one night, go check Mehek out and support their new VEGAN MENU so they keep expanding on it! (HINT HINT TO THE RESTAURANT: Would love to see a DAHL or TOFU MAKHANI using cashew or...
Read moreIf you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine that hits all the right notes—flavor, freshness, and friendliness—look no further than this hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm, attentive staff who made us feel genuinely welcome. Their helpful recommendations added a personal touch that made our dining experience even better.
The food? Outstanding. We ordered a spread that included the butter chicken, garlic naan, and chicken biryani—all of which lived up to the hype. The butter chicken was rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced in spice, while the garlic naan was pillowy, golden, and just the right amount of crispy on the edges. But the real standout was the chicken biryani. It was fragrant, flavorful, and clearly made with care—the chicken was incredibly tender and the rice infused with warm, complex spices.
One thing that stood out across every dish was how fresh everything tasted. You can tell that the food is made to order with quality ingredients, not rushed or reheated. Portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices felt more than fair for the quality of food and service we received.
The setting is relaxed and unpretentious. While the décor might be simple, the homely atmosphere adds to its charm. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, enjoy your meal, and feel right at home.
In short: excellent food, lovely staff, and great value. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or just looking for a cozy, flavorful meal, this place deserves a spot on...
