Ordered some food from here recently, which got my friend with a nut allergy severely sick that night. called to let the staff know the next day, and advised them to make their nut allergy warnings more obvious, but was told that the menu mentions nuts for the dishes we ordered (i couldn’t see any?) , and that there is a sign in front saying to speak to staff for allergies etc (did not notice this). I’m not sure about others, but unless a sign very clearly says ‘closed’ or is right in front of my face and cannot be missed, it’s easily missed.

perhaps it’s uncultured of us to not know there are nuts in certain south asian dishes, but we just think that they weren’t clear about which ones did on their menu. the person i spoke to over the phone claimed that all their menus (physical and online) all contain the exact same information, and i've just checked now on menulog and their website, and our ordered dishes don't mention nuts at all! she also didn’t sound apologetic and made it seem like it was our fault that we missed their apparently clear signage. sad to say that i won’t be ordering from...

We went to Miar on 21st June for a family dinner, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet our expectations.

We ordered a few entrées and mains. The entrées were average – I’d rate them around 2 to 3 out of 5. The mains were completely tasteless and lacked flavor.

We had also heard good things about the chur chur naan, so we ordered it – but it turned out to be extremely salty. Even our kids couldn’t eat it because of how overpowering the salt was.

We spent over $400 on food, but sadly, it felt like a complete waste of money given the quality and taste.

One more thing to note: the restaurant doesn’t have an attached washroom. You have to go outside to use the facilities, which is quite inconvenient, especially with kids. At the very least, a washbasin inside the restaurant would have been helpful.

The only positive part of the evening was the staff – they were friendly and attentive, which we appreciated.

Overall, a disappointing visit and not somewhere we’d likely return...

I went along with my family to have a dinner at Minars yesterday. We were really disappointed with service and food quality. We ordered Veg tandori platter for entree but we are served few cheese cubes, mushroom along with pakoras. Not sure how chef can cook pakoras in tandor.

While we were having our entrees, two groups arrived in the restaurant and they brought bottle of spirits with them. Given it clearly says at their first window that their licence only allows BYO wine. I will submit a complaint to VCGLR about voliation of their liquor licence.

Atmosphere of the restaurant was awful and guys on those tables were very loud and abusive. We ended up taking our mains as take away. There was no garlic on garlic naans and tandori roti was also seemed stale.

Even though we did let the lady at the counter about the atmosphere. She did not acknowledge our concerns and also did not show...

Minar is a good option for Indian food in Point cook locality. The food is good with a wide menu range and the service is great. The prices were reasonable too. We tried Paneer Hong Kong, Garlic chicken, methi malai chicken, Pani Puri and Punjabi paneer chur chur naan. The taste was fine....except for the chur chur naan..which was a bit of a let down. The other issue I experienced is that they make the lassi orders in the dining hall and their mixer makes terrible loud noise. I hope they correct this soon as the noise spoils the experience of the place ...especially in the evening times. Overall a good package with many tick boxes checked and a place worth a visit again.

Worst customer experience, please dont even bother to waste your time and money in trying food at this restaurant. I ordered food for dinner and dal makhni is smelling like its overcooked and bread are super hard not easily chewable. When I reported the issue they were least bothered to listen to our concern and told us to come and pick up the replacement. When we told we cant come again, you have to deliver as it was not our problem, they hang up the phone. Ridiculous customer service, i wont even bother to go there next time.

Worst Biryani. We ordered lamb and chicken biryani, it looked like pulao but tasted horrible. Never had such a worst biryani in my life. When asked the staff said that is how a biryani tastes. I said I will buy them biryani from other restaurants so that they know how biryani tastes. Then they said it is a Sindhi biryani. Terrible place for biryani’s 🤢🤢 There was also a fried chicken piece in the chicken biryani, seems like they mixed up the leftovers with biryani. A BIG NO to biryani lovers
