PappaRich The Glen — Restaurant in Melbourne

THANK YOU so much to everyone from The Glen shopping centre PappaRich from both my friend/godfather Peter and I for absolutely everything today - including the top notch food, top notch service and top notch atmosphere - during our first time ever visiting to dine in, we are so grateful to each and every single one of you!

We at there on 28/08/2024 (so sorry to everyone been meaning to type up and post this 100% positive Google review many, many hours sooner, my way of thanking you all on behalf of Peter and myself) the second and final day of the $10 Nasi Lemak (available for both dine in and takeaway) - to commemorate the upcoming Malaysian Independence Day on 31/08/2024 - and I'm so grateful to Peter that he generously paid for our dine in lunch: two $10 Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken (and he generously paid to takeaway an additional one to take back for his family to try) and an ABC Special with Ice Cream to share between the both of us. We had waited at least half an hour in line - perfectly understandable given how many people lined up for the $10 Nasi Lemak - before we could order at the cash register and everything was 100% worth the wait!

Both of our dine in $10 Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken dishes (plus the takeaway one) were ready in less than 5 minutes, so impressed with the speed of that service as well as how friendly it was from everyone we interacted with! Both Peter and I absolutely loved it! If I'm not mistaken, normally it is $18.50 and that already 100% worth the price for both the quality and serving size, so to only pay $10 is absolutely amazing value!

The verdict from both Peter and I: PappaRich's Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken is the PERFECT Nasi Lemak, that iconic national dish of Malaysia! Starting with that absolutely beautiful coconut infused rice, it is accompanied by the classic scrumptious sides - shelled peanuts and Ikan Bilis that enhance the texture and crunch, hard boiled egg, fresh cucumber and that tantalising chilli sauce called Sambal - and finished off with absolutely lovely boneless moist Malaysian Curry Chicken pieces that is brimming with perfectly balanced spicy flavour! Both Peter and I most definitely would love to have again for the full price of $18.50.

The ABC Special with Ice Cream is the PERFECT versatile of the iconic Malaysia dessert - ABC is short for Air Batu Campur which is Malay for "mixed ice" - truly incredible value, it was a most impressively sized shaved ice dessert large enough to be shared between Peter and I, and it had a truly amazing plethora of elements combined, all so colourful and beautifully presented in an artistically sculpted cylinder of shaved Ice topped with a scoop of ice cream. Combined with rose syrup, condemsed milk, peanuts, grass jelly, creamed sweet corn, red bean paste and sultanas it is the dessert to end all desserts! $11.90 is super awesome value.

And the service from everyone including front of house, cash register and the wait staff was too notch, everyone was so nice, helpful and friendly!

So next time you're in Glen Waverley most definitely go for PappaRich in The Glen for not only Nasi Lemak and ABC Special but for any and all your Malaysian cuisine cravings, it will take you all the way to Malaysia, and myself being from Malaysia and holidaying there 15 times since moving yo Australia in 1990, you can...

Dad was so nice to shout us, thanks a lot to him, on the final day of the $12 Nasi Lemak promotion (28/08/2025) he gave me the cash, I made my way down to PappaRich The Glen via bus, placed my order at exactly 12:23pm in the afternoon, the friendly and helpful cashier took my order, and in less than five minutes a waitress gave me the four Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak!

Deepest apologies to the PappaRich The Glen team to only post my 5-star Google review now...mainly because in case the $12 Nasi Lemak sold out (because that's how popular it is by evening after I got the four Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak, placed them in in the fridge for my Dad to reheat via a streaming process for dinner when he, my Mum, sister and I met up at one of our places to have it for dinner! Dad cooked green beans to go with it our already PERFECT Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak that was so delicious it definitely is worth thole normal price so to get $12 for one, so happy.

So sorry to the PappaRich Rich The Glen team I had to delete my previous 5-stat Google review to make way for this one...my patents, sister and I once again would like to thank PappaRich The Glen's cashier, wait staff, chefs, kitchen staff and manger for the friendly and helpful service, lightning fast preparation of our Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak and for how absolutely DELICIOUS it was!

100% I very highly recommend thw Curry Chicken Nasi Lemak at PappaRich The Glen - whether it's full price or $12 - as well as everything else there, the Malaysian food there, first rate and so is...

Not a pleasant dining experience for dinner tonight!

Went into papparich approximately 7.30pm. I found the restaurant decor really nice but apart from that wait staff service and food quality is below standard. Made our order for dinner and drink by 7.40pm. What this restaurant could improve on: I had to press the bell buzzer multiple times to get staff attention and at times felt ignored. No smiles on staff faces, felt poor vibes. Simply getting table water took 5 minutes. Our drink came in 15 mins after ordering which is shocking! To top it off it had items missing. 40 mins in from 7.40pm still no food, we saw new people coming in being served before us. The waiter then asks what did we order?!! Again items missing when we received food. My partner received her food 10 minutes after me and by then my food was cold and tasteless! Glasses were dirty and sauce container had stains which is very concerning during covid times! Water tasted off Post meal I suffered from breathing difficulty which normally happens after a particular food item which I definitely made sure wasn’t in my food item ordered! This may suggest poor hygiene from kitchen staff?

I do thank the manager for coming out and showing sympathy but I’m sorry this isn’t good enough during covid times. I can accept a long wait due to short staff but if you make the customer wait at least make sure the meal is reasonable and clean!
