Mountain View Hotel — Restaurant in Melbourne

Vegans and vegetarains rejoice at the cruelty free menu, heroeing the many tastes of vegetables, hosted by the Mountain View Hotel in Glen Waverly tonight. Tonight my family and I were graced by the bubbly service of Antoinette who upon arrival, presented us with an ecletic menu with a wide variety of animal and environmentally friendly options.

Though we ordered 4 completly different meals we all found ourselves salivating over each others food and our own, sharing our food as a Vegan smorgasboard. Each dish was unique and beautiful. The vegetable stack was a feast for the eyes with a kaleidoscope of colours, the gnocci ratatouille was a rich bowl of seasonal vegetables, the stir fried noodles was nothing less than simply yummy and the sri lankan rice dish was perfect for a cold winters night! Each meal was equally as impressive by harnessing the flavours of the earth, using creative ways to cater for a myriad of cultures.

As a Vegan I am so very grateful when hotels and resturants think about the veggie community, coming from 45 minutes away we were only dissapointed that this is not a weekly event. Attending Vegan Night was a very pleasant experience. Thank you to Antoinette and The Moutain View Hotel for inviting and delighting us to eat out kindly...

Nice enough pub, bistro, restaurant, pool tables great atmosphere really and everything you could want from an Australian pub.

I was just really disappointed in the lack of social awareness from who I believe to be the manager. She must be overworked or underpaid or something cause as someone with an eating disorder, she failed to treat me with the respect and patience I needed when I was so keen to eat finally.

all the other staff were very lovely and understanding, I have never sent food back in my life but the steak was certainly not of adequate quality to warrant the price and I should not have had to work so hard for it being sent from room to room, no eye contact, I get she was busy but I just needed 1 minute to order my food and it took me 10-15 minutes (maybe how it felt cause I was hungry and trying to be patient) to order. the food came quickly though so at-least I didn’t waste too much time there.

I’d be very happy to change my review if I was contacted to about but for now its my first not 5 star review ever.

The place is nice and looks okay, some of the staff were nice but one in particular who was very nasty. It was a bald security guard specifically on one night that kicked us out for getting food from another place due to the kitchen being closed when we had already spent approximately ~$150 on drinks and was going to spend more. We got kicked out without being able to finish our drinks but thought nothing of it initially. Next night, we come back because nothing else was open and it was our friends birthday, as we were about to buy drinks, we were kicked out and told we were banned without any mention of that the prior night. As we were leaving, we were chased by the guard as he was screaming profanity and slurs directed towards our group. It seems that this place needs to evaluate their staff and make some changes with some proper training, until then I don’t recommend anyone to go there as it is not safe when their own security are...
