This is zero effort, zero standard garbage that I could not bring myself to finishing. Business owner, if you're reading this, you need to actually care and lift your game. I recommend benchmarking yourself against Hakata Gensuke and Ippudo. This is an insultingly disrespectful rendition of Kyushu syle tonkotsu ramen. Critical review below:
Soup - watery and anemic. soup has no body, creaminess or depth. no aroma oil whatsoever. lukewarm temperature. Noodles - an overcooked, soggy mess with no texture. Toppings - a few miserable kernels of corn which do not belong on Kyushu style tonkatsu ramen. The (half) egg epitomises the lack of any care; just a plain, non-tare soaked, overcooked egg. two tiny rectangles of seaweed floating on the soup arrived soggy. chashu was average with the only redeeming feature being a brief blowtorching. Plating - the bowl presented was cold, resulting in the soup presenting as lukewarm and cooling rapidly. zero effort made to pre-heat bowl. Venue/seating - sat in the wooden booths around the corner, the table edges have started cracking and actually pose a minor safety hazard to your elbows/forearms. furthermore, absolutely zero sides present, no sesame, no takana, no garlic,...

What we had:
Matcha ramen with duck fillet, it was very interesting and must try for once at least, it has a super creamy taste but you really can’t taste the grassy matcha in it, whereas the duck fillet were super tender. The serving size is massive. Unlike other ramen places in Melbourne.
Spicy Tonakatsu Ramen, that pork belly melted in the mouth and the spiciness of this ramen is so satisfying and just right. Packed with so much flavours and I’d definitely love to come back for this one, highly recommended.
Crispy enoki, salty, perfectly crispy, such a tasty treat, a must try for sure.
Yuzu soft serve, we thought it’s gonna be light in flavours, instead it just hits you, that yuzu tanginess and strength of it is amazing. Must try for all yuzu lovers out there.
Their ramen taste is unique and really stands out, and considering the price point, you won’t get this good quality ramen anywhere else in Melbourne. So definitely visit @ramenramentheglen for a sumptuous and delicious ramen feast with your...
Read moreSaw this place advertised on IG and decided to check it out. The shop is in the food court in the Glen. My thoughts are:
Tonkotsu ramen was okay. Soup was very thin, not very flavoursome or rich like how Tonkotsu usually is. The extra ramen I paid for was not cooked through properly, very floury tasting still and was thrown into a spare bowl without any presentation or pride. Slices of chasu were very thin and the half a ramen egg was made using the smaller size of eggs. The chicken katsu was lovely. Battered and fried very well so it was nice and crunchy with a very nice flavour without being too oily. Staff are cute and friendly. Eating booths are clean and comfortable.
This shops ramen was fine, but given its advertised online as a 'craft ramen' shop, I'm disappointed that it tasted like a standard food...
