@fo0die was kindly invited to Napa Cafe. You will not see a review from us if we were requested to give a 5 star review unless itโs truly a 5 star.
Located on busy Burke Rd, parking was difficult to find on a weekday morning. If you donโt mind a little stroll then park a little further down side streets and walk (note that few of the streets are permit only spots).
At the time we went Napa appeared to be experimenting with their offering. There was a burger menu, a spring menu and a cafe menu. We were advised the burger menu will most likely become an evening offering.
The interior is relaxing and aesthetic. They have a library of books at the back and a small section with colouring / drawing activities that can be taken back to the tables for kids.
Food wise, we really enjoyed the creamy coconut curry prawn noodles which was part of their spring menu. A little different to what one would expect from a cafe but very delicious if you are down to try it. Six prawns with tails on, slightly spicy, creamy with an addition of tomatoes which gave it that little bit of freshness.
Their Royale bene which is part of their normal brekky menu was a good classic mix of creamy hollandaise with a little tang to it. Together with the smoked salmon and poached egg it balanced nicely.
Drinks. The highlight was the tiramisu latte! Not overly sweet with a little bit of salt to balance it off. Mr J had a decaf and more often than not many places donโt make it right and it ends up tasting like a bad coffee. Glad to say Napa had it down pat. The barista knew what he was doing and even pulled some amazing latte...

Located along Bourke Rd in Glen Iris, Napa is a standout neighbourhood cafรฉ thatโs found its groove since opening during the 2020 lockdowns. Revisiting it recently reminded me how lucky we are to have such great local spots. With reasonable prices and generous portions, Napa offers more than your typical brunch โ their extensive burger menu and seasonal specials keep things exciting. After two visits in one week, Iโm already planning my next order!
What We Loved: Tiramisu Latte โ๏ธ ($8) โ A cold brew with creamy foam that genuinely tastes like tiramisu. Not overly sweet, and absolutely worth returning for. Waffle Cluck ๐ง ($24) โ Crispy fried chicken paired with perfectly cooked waffles - crunchy outside, fluffy inside - drizzled in a spicy maple glaze. Heavenly. Wagyu Tower Burger ๐ ($23) โ Juicy, well-cooked patty with deliciously seasoned fries on the side. Double Wagyu Cheeseburger ๐ ($19) โ According to my brother, itโs like his favorite Maccaโs cheeseburger but elevated in every way. Smashed Avo ๐ฅ ($20) โ A classic brunch dish done right with generous portions, especially for the price. Breaky Burger ๐ฅฏ ($14) โ I loved the scrambled egg twist instead of the usual fried egg, and the hash brown was golden perfection.
Napaโs combination of classic brunch dishes, inventive burgers, and seasonal specials keeps it fresh and enticing. Itโs a joy to see local businesses like this thriving - and being within walking distance is the cherry on top. If youโre in the area, Napa is well worth a...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently had an amazing weekday brunch at Napa in Glen Iris, and it was an experience to remember! There are a few parking options in the main street and we didn't have any issues finding a park! The space itself, when you walk in, is quite big inside with some tables outside too (it is a noisy busy street though so just be mindful while picking the spot to sit down).
The seasonal menu is fantastic โ I highly recommend trying the Coconut Curry Prawns! The portions were generous and the flavours were spot-on. The French toast was also the star of the show โ fresh, beautifully presented and just the perfect level of sweetness.
We eyeballed the other meals from customers and they also looked filling and of great portion, especially the Chicken and Waffles which looked beautiful and will definitely be a must next time. We were also impressed by the smoothies we had โ they are not in the big menu but there is a small menu with them - be sure to ask for it! The consistency and flavour was great. One thing to note is that I wish they had more vegan/dairy free options.
The cafe itself has such a cosy, aesthetic vibe with a charming little library that adds to its appeal. Itโs the perfect place for a relaxed brunch date, whether with friends, family, or a special someone.
With hearty portions and delicious food, Napa is a must-visit for anyone craving a satisfying brunch. Weโll definitely be back soon!
