Unfortunately had a terrible customer service experience tonight. We ordered online and came on time to pick our pizzas up, when we were told it would be 5 mins - no problem at all! We continued to wait for 30 mins more and during this time received no recognition or apology from the girls serving at the front of the store. We watched them stand around and move slowly with seemingly no concern for the people that were waiting on them . Eventually the girl putting the pizzas in the box from the oven called out our order - and without looking behind her just put it on top of the pizza oven. The other front register girls took phone calls and did anything else than pick up the order and hand it to us. We tried a couple times to get someone's attention to hand it to us and we got brushed off. Finally we told one of the girls that the pizza behind was ours as we had seen it be placed there. She then replied with "no that's not yours" even though we had clearly heard that it was. I had to explain that our order had been called before she had a proper look and then handed it over. Absolutely no problem if it was just busy - but this experience just lacked basic customer...
Read moreTogether with some close friends on Saturday night I visited The Pizza Co on Burke Road in Camberwell for the first time. It's a small place with not so many tables to dine at inside but there are tables in the front pavement area and the back court yard. In fact, the back courtyard probably provides the most space and so likely to be the best spot during warmer days. Now the pizzas were great (5 stars) however, while Stewart, the young waiter serving us was very affable (+ one star), the service overall was not so good. We ordered garlic bread for starters and three large pizzas, a Vegetarian with anchovies, a Mexicana and a Capricciosa. The first problem, our starter, the garlic bread was served just after the pizzas (- one star)! The second problem the large Vegetarian might have had one or maybe two anchovies but for all intents and purposes they forgot to add the anchovies (- one star). It took quite some time for our meals to be served but being a Saturday night the pizzaiolos may have been busy with takeaway orders (-1/2 a star). The restaurant (entrance and toilet) isn't wheelchair friendly (-...
Read moreI like the ‘artisan’ margarita pizza from here, it’s definitely not worth $23 but for an easy dinner it does the trick. However I do not recommend desert from here. I purchased the tiramisu for $11, however it was literally dry plain sponge cake and what tasted like Cole’s whipped cream from a can. No coffee or chocolate?? I was so disappointed and I honestly thought it must have been a joke. Can’t say I’ll ever have the desert again but the pizza has been a solid 7/10 every time. Also when I dined in the service was very strange, waited a long time to be served even as the only customer and the waiter was giving off a very odd vibe, would not recommend women to come alone which is a huge problem owners should consider. Also to note, this is NOT an...
