It may look like your average casual restaurant in an obscure part of a strip of shops where foot traffic isn't ever at a high, but it's definitely worth stopping in at Nepal Dining Room for a really delicious meal.

Admittedly, this was my first time trying Nepalese food, but I love Indian and I know they're a little similar, so thought I'd give it a try. I'm so glad I did, because the food was fantastic. The restaurant itself is nicely decked out. It's got a slight modern warehouse type feel to it, but there's ample room (but with small tables), and beautiful smells coming from the kitchen.

I ordered the Pan Fried Sekuwa, which are pieces of chicken thigh fillets marinated with mustard leaves, yoghurt, garlic, ginger and cumin. It was so delicious and came with a mini refreshing salad of cucumber and onion and tomato etc. A really good start to the meal. Following that, I ordered the Chicken Curry for my main (which came with butternut pumpkin) and plain rice. It was beautiful and fresh and while the chicken wasn't as tender as the entree, it was still packed with flavour and texture.

The service was good. Food came out all together and correctly and within a reasonable time frame, and the prices are worth it for what you get. Street parking is plenty along that side and portion of Waverly Road and I really look forward to trying it again...

Food and ambiance is good.... We went for dinner today. But we got the biggest disappointment while settling the bill. Redenergy rewards members has 20% discount on bill which is mentioned on redenergy website as well. First we asked if the staffs are aware of it.. they were not and didn't even bother to know further about it.. so we browsed redenergy site and showed it to them.... And still they don't wanted to understand what we are trying to say... Then we asked them to call their manager or whoever to verify it... One of the lady went in with membership card, came out and gave me $20 which was not even 20% of the bill.... I again asked if she found out about the discount offer and her answer completely pissed me off... She said "we don't know about it, as you asked, we are giving it to you", as if we are behind $20... WE DON'T WANT YOUR $20, WE WANT YOU TO FIX YOUR PROBLEM.... if red energy offer is not applicable to your restaurant, ask red energy to remove it, don't confuse your customers...and don't think that every customer is there for...

The venue itself had an amazing atmosphere and decor and we were tried an array of Nepalese dumplings and street food dishes. All of the momos had different shapes and textures, my personal favourite was the chicken which had kind of a gyouza style wrapping and was pan fried. There was also pork, spicy chicken, lamb and veggie. The momos were accompanied by four types of chutney my favourite of which was the super flavoursome tomato with wild pepper. On the tapas platter I loved the chicken skewers which were super tender with a nice smoky char and the yummy aloo chop which was a potato based dish. A sweet potato curry and a bean dish called kwati were also very tasty. We finished the meal on a sweet note with evaporated milk dumplings served with ice cream. These had a great light texture and really embodied the Nepalese soul food concept that momos...
