New York Minute — Restaurant in Melbourne

Me and my partner are avid New York Minute Fans, we live on the same street and it’s always a great last minute dinner for our little family of two.

I’d say we have been going to NYM for well over a year and have experienced highs and lows of both food quality and service.

Daniel the manager is fantastic - every time he is in store I know the food is going to be fresh, crunchy and dripping with sauce. Everything you want in a burger, right?

I called up tonight to place our usual order, the guy over the phone told me it would be ready in 5 minutes? Weird. You would think to make two burgers and two chips from scratch that you would wait more then 10 minutes for a fresh product. Right? I arrived 4 minutes later to find everything packaged, stapled and ready to go. Weird.. I even had to check it was my order. I paid our usually fee of $38 and headed home only to find cold, undercooked soggy chips. A stale bun, rubber bacon, zero sauce and meat that tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while.

Horrid. Disappointed again, we looked at each other, sighed and ended up skipping dinner all together. Our dog however scored herself a killer $38 meal. Lucky Gwen

Disappointed again, for the 5th time around. It comes back to that age old saying. “When the cats away the mice will play”. Daniel, if you get a chance to read this, we will miss you. Whip those staff around and get them into shape. It’s your business, don’t let big things like fresh product and quality control fly under the radar.

Tonight will be our last night of having our beloved Southern Fried Burgers. New York Minute. We are breaking up...

Pathetic service. I ordered through Door Dash and will never be using that company again, let alone order from this restaurant. First up, the driver was very late, did not answer his text messages, then simply placed the food on my verandah, hoping to make a quick getaway, without the courtesy of knocking on my door or using the doorbell. He had not supplied one item. I called him back and pointed this out. Then ensued a lengthy argument in which the driver did not believe that the item had been ordered, blamed the restaurant for not giving him the item and wasted ages of my time. Eventually, he promised to return with the item, but failed to keep his word. I did my best to contact Door Dash but they have no phone number listed. I did not want a credit. I then rang the restaurant and was told that it was the driver's fault for possibly damaging the item, etc., however, I had the slip of paper which showed that he had picked up what he was told. Staff told me that they could not help me, even though I'm entitled to get what I paid for, under Australian law, then promised that the item would be delivered separately. Waiting to see if it actually happens, but I think it's unlikely. Substandard service - don't even bother unless you enjoy ruining what is meant to be a quiet night with arguments and...

👎👎 Sorry guys but wow, did I have a poor experience tonight with my Door Dash order. Something (or essentially everything) has just gone awfully wrong:

Chips were close to brown in colour, drenched in oil, and completely soggy (tasted like day old chips) Paid an extra $1 for extra chicken salt, which is exorbitant, and got no extra chicken salt Patties were completely overcooked, grey, bitter, and unsalted Only option was to order double patties for all burgers which made for an unbalanced, overfilled, and grainy bite Spinach was stacked on the very bottom of the burger and upon bite were goopy and droopy Single slice of Swiss cheese between two large patties was basically redundant (could not even taste it) Bacon was lacking flavour and rubbery Hardly any sauce in the burger, which was applied to one side only and completely spilled out onto the paper

I hate giving such low reviews but man, what a terrible experience. Not sure on the four star rating and how that eventuated - I am suspecting fake reviews and noticed a reviewer who conveniently rated all of the New York Minute locations as 5 stars, with no other reviews 🤨 not to be trusted...
