Nonno's Pizzeria — Restaurant in Melbourne

Booked a table of six seated in garden out the back, was confirmed at least 2 times, when we arrived they said out the back was not open, we had to sit out on the footpath or inside in a small space with pram. Shouldn’t book if not available! Only 1 Prosecco to order which arrived in a wine glass, not champagne glass, could not order small pizza only large (money grabbing what if a child wanted a pizza)! Asked if we wanted Parmesan cheese and some chilli oil then charged us $2.50 each for a tiny jar! I feel they were “condiments” and as it was an Italian restaurant you would at least expect the cheese to be free! My kids bolognese was the smallest serving I have ever seen. Food OK, service was pleasant but to top it off they charge $8 something service fee! I assume that was because it was a Sunday! Probably...

We came for Mother’s Day lunch and it was an excellent experience. We booked online via Google Maps which was quick and easy. We ordered food to share, a pizza & 2 pastas. We had the pizza special - mortadella, which was exceptional. It was a difference kind of pizza base, the toppings were simple yet delicious, authentic Italian style. The green pesto sauce which was very tasty. For the pastas we had spaghetti bolognaise & fettuccine carbonara. The texture of the pasta was fresh & delicious, both sauces were well made and flavoursome. We will definitely come back and order again.

Please note the indoor space is very limited while the outside space is 3 times larger, depending on the weather, you might prefer to book indoors but with good weather the outside...
