Old Kodak Pizza — Restaurant in Melbourne

Used to be great and my go to for local pizza - fast and good value. Unfortunately things seem to have gone downhill here. Prices have gone up (the 2 large pizza delivery deal is up 40% in the last year or so for example) and service has gone way down. Each time I've ordered from here the delivery time has increased excessively.

Ordered 2 Family pizzas for delivery and was told there would be a 45 minute wait - ok for a Friday night. 1.5 hours had passed and no signs of delivery so I called up and was told they were just being put in the oven 'now'. 40 minutes passes and still no sign of my order. Called again - 'sorry the pizzas are just coming out of the oven now'. I don't think it takes 40 minutes to cook a pizza.

2 hours and 20 minutes from my order the pizzas finally arrived. They offered me some chips or a drink as compensation for the wait - 1.5 hours (3 TIMES) longer than they originally told me. No offers for a discount given I hadn't even paid yet.

Pretty poor service and communication. Sounds like they're giving people false times so customers don't go elsewhere and then just deliver them when they can once they've locked in a sale. Why tell people you've got 45 minute waits when in actuality it's in excess of 2 hours? I'd have gone elsewhere.

Pizza was good as per usual, perhaps it was an off night but the service/communication and the fact they're no longer much better value than others around will probably make me try somewhere...

Ordered through uber eats and when the meal arrived they had delivered the incorrect item. I told their delivery driver (they have their own and not ubers) and he said he would call the shop and get it redelivered to me.

It's not 7am and we have had no delivery, phone call or apology. Ended up getting the item refunded from Uber

I just wanted to add a bit more after the stores reply to my review.........

1. It is not me "misunderstanding" when you order a garlic pizza bread and get garlic bread, it is you "the store" mislabeling something on Uber.

2. The fact that I asked your delivery driver to let me know what's happening and you didn't even take the time to give me a quick call to explain but have plenty of time to reply to a Google review is poor...

Update: Just wanted to update this review as Old Kodak has been my go-to pizza place for the past 1+ year and it is always good. I always get the Vegan Extra’s- it’s the only takeaway pizza with vegan cheese that actually tastes good in my opinion. Highly recommend!!

I’ve gotten the Vegan Pesto pizza and pasta from here a few times and it’s always been so good. I ordered off Menulog a few times, but tonight when I ordered there was a mix up with the delivery and they had the best customer service when I called to ask about it. They were apologetic and resolved the issue so quickly. Thanks so much! Will continue to order from them again...
