The crew at the Olinda Fish and Chip shop are fantastic. We are alway met with excellent customer service and a great big smile! It is so lovely to see. The shop is always clean and it is super convenience. Life with school and sport is always chaotic and we are constantly on the run. Once a week we get a treat and we call and place our order on the way home from basketball training and everything is always ready and waiting when we get there. We are always sooo well looked after! We cannot go past their burgers, the bread rolls are actually real and not sugar filled and the meat and salad always fresh and tasty. They are so filling we do not even order chips! The new owners have now been here about a year. I might be biased as a local, but I wouldn’t keep going back of I didn’t think they were good. They are a fantastic traditional Fish & Chip shop with a twist. They source their chips from locally-grown potatoes in Gembrook, and cut them themselves. They get fresh scallops and fish and batter them up. Delicious. Forget about expensive, “gourmet” chain hamburgers. These are the real deal, traditional Australian fish & chip shop hamburgers which are absolutely delicious. Get the Burger Pack with chips. Visited here for lunch a day past boxing day. Although the place looked pretty basic but (1) the ice cream is very nice and creamy (we had the strawberry and rum & raisin - both were very authentic); and (2) the fish and chips - fish was fresh with nice thin batter. Chips were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Salad was fresh. We were pleasantly surprised.

The staff were a bit over loaded as it was a public holiday but they handled the pressure quite well.

All in all we would recommend this place for the ice cream and fish & chips. Not sure about the chicken...
