The employee was very rudely aggressive towards my non-native english speaking husband when pushing for us to pay !!!$4!!! to add pineapple as we left a note in the order. Instead of asking or informing us prior, they added the pineapple then used the uber driver's phone to suddenly demand we pay by reading our complete card number over the phone which seemed ridiculous. They offered for us to pay the uber driver and the uber driver pay him now which seemed rude to put that burden on the driver AND it wouldn't be protected by uber if there was an issue because he wouldn't be able to provide any kind of receipt if we paid via cash. We were happy to pay the $4 once working out an appropriate way to do so even though the cost was absurd, but the employee angrily told us not to worry about the cost and hung up. Assuming they waived the cost as a courtesy or something, we moved on. After the fact we got a call from uber that the restaurant was now attempting to adjust the cost which we were forced to pay regardless of any ill treatment/rudeness or deception saying that we wouldn't need to pay anymore.
I am understanding that you are a family business etc but a little compassion or politeness to let us know of the situation instead of immediately being hostile would have provided a much easier outcome.
To add to the business' reply: I never stated I wanted the pineapple for free, I stated that in our experiences establishments either charge nothing for something as simple as pineapple or maximum of 2 dollars, but never something like $4. Regardless of our shock towards the price we intended on paying, it was your employee that was very rude and hung up on us because we wouldnt give our card details to him - had they just originally stated they could alter the invoice on Uber in the first place the situation wouldn't have happened. The person on the phone said they don’t have that pizza and never have! We said well what did you give us then for the vegan ham pizza we ordered last time if you don’t have that pizza? they said we were MISTAKEN and called the wrong shop. And said if there was vegan pizzas on the app that it was a mistake as they don’t sell them? Noting I did call the number from your Google so I did speak to the correct shop. Seems to me that they just used real meat - I did think something was a little off with the pizza from a few weeks ago as it didn’t look plant based. Vegan eaters beware!
