🍗 BFC 🥪 Pastrami 🥯 The Brekkie Bagel

I think we were all SO excited when we heard new sandwich shop Ollie’s Deli was coming to Footscray, especially with Melbourne’s current obsession with them - we don’t really much like it here yet! The first couple of weeks they had massive queues and often sold out before lunch, they absolutely killed it. 👊🏽

The Brekkie Bagel was actually pretty tasty and we recommend adding the hash brown. The Pastrami Sanga was also really delicious however it was very meat heavy, we agreed having a full one on our own would’ve been abit much.

The BFC was great, but it was essentially a hotted up McChicken burger. Lucky we were home to eat it because it was really messy. I personally don’t rate this new trend of massive chicken patties inside tiny buns. It also didn’t sit well with me that this was the only sandwich to charge $3 for a slice of cheese, which through all the sauce could barely taste anyway. If a place highly recommends an addition to an item on their menu, I don’t understand why they just don’t make it included. This made it an $18 sandwich. 🤯

They say imitation is the highest form of flattery however I do appreciate originality and this is what they lack - their menu is a almost a carbon copy of Hectors Deli. But we did like Ollie’s, and we’re happy...

I’ve never tasted such delicious sandwiches before! Save this spot @olliesdeli in @lovefootscray for a fresh, flavourful, filling sandwiches and Sangas time over great quality coffee and juices.

What we had here:

The brekkie bagel, perfect to start your mornings with, so light, feels very fresh and simple flavours, makes it really satisfying to eat. Must try.

The pastrami, such a massive sandwich, so filling, packed with sauerkraut and pastrami and might get super messy, but tastes incredibly yummy. Highly recommend

BFC, panko buttermilk fried chicken sandwich was my ultimate favourite, felt very refreshing to eat with all the lettuce, loved the flavours and definitely highly recommend.

Tuna melt, I’m definitely coming back for this one, so irresistible, simple yet very tasty, packed with tuna and cheese. Must try.

We had a latte, which was very comforting to drink and a juice.

Loved the service, very prompt and attentive, also the staff here are such kind, generous and welcoming people. The vibe here is so relaxing. And the prices are standard but offers great quality food and drinks.

We visited this lovely cafe on a Tuesday afternoon and you can tell that they are absolutely loved by locals! We ordered:

ꕤ 𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀𝐒 The Pastrami: toasted to perfection!! With swiss cheese, sauerkraut, pastrami & Ollie’s special sauce. Served with pickles and chips

Truffle Cheese Melt: with a delicious cheese trio -- mozzarella, Swiss and Gruyère. Toasted with truffle, mushroom salsa and truffle oil. LOVED the flavour combos!!

ꕤ 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐊𝐒 & 𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐒 Iced Matcha Strong Cappuccino Passionfruit & Lemon Slice

These flavours were AMAZING! The special sauce in the pastrami toastie packed a slightly spicy punch and we absolutely loved it with the tangy sauerkraut and pastrami slices. The truffle melt had such a unique umami flavour to it and the cheese pull was fantastic.

The staff here are so welcoming and friendly which made the dining experience here so wonderful! We’ll definitely be back to try more of...
