Visited this place for the first time tonight and had an enjoyable time. It feels like the current 4.7 star rating is based on the value for money (which I agree with) as opposed to the food (which I think is around 4.2-4.4).
This is an all-you-can-eat place with the items cooked to order. You can order as much as you want, as many times as you like, so long as you don't waste the food. It really suits groups of diners with different food preferences.
The place seemed to be understaffed, which meant that it was a little difficult to place orders. I think the restaurant would benefit from an automated ordering system, like using iPads. This being said, the staff members were super friendly and were definitely trying their best.
Food wise, the highlight was the beef tataki. The vinaigrette dressing and the wasabi mayonnaise worked with the beef in perfect harmony. The ika yaki was also worth mentioning. The chilli miso sauce was a pleasant surprise.
On the flip side, the chicken katsu tasted like it had been pre-fried. I think it would have been better if it was fried in a similar way to the chicken karaage, which had a better outer layer. Also, the green tea panna cotta was a little disappointing, as the photo on the menu showed a thick slice, but the actual dessert was served in a shallow tray (and I wished for more).
Overall, I think this place is definitely good value for money and it suits groups of people with different food preferences, especially if they are hungry. Just keep in mind that the rating reflects the value for money, as opposed...

I recently visited Oshima All You Can Eat in Frankston and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the restaurant’s high rating of 4.7 out of 5 on Restaurant Guru ,
Food Quality and Presentation
The chicken teriyaki was poorly prepared; it seemed as though the chicken was merely cooked and a generic sauce poured over it. The portion was small, and the dish lacked the depth of flavor one would expect from a Japanese restaurant. The accompanying vegetables were minimal, adding little to the meal.
We also ordered a tofu salad, which was misleadingly named, as it consisted solely of tofu without any salad components. My partner’s vegetable stir-fry was similarly underwhelming, with a scant amount of vegetables that did not justify the dish’s name.
Service and Amenities
The service was inattentive; staff seemed disengaged and unresponsive to our needs. Notably, essential condiments such as soy sauce and wasabi were absent from our table, which is unexpected in a Japanese dining establishment.
Overall Impression
Given the restaurant’s reputation and pricing, the experience did not meet expectations. The food lacked authenticity and attention to detail, and the service did not enhance the...
Read moreCame here for dinner tonight with my husband as we were both missing Japan 🇯🇵 went in at 7pm, didn't have a booking but was fortunate in getting a table. You have 1.5hrs to order food, with overall 2hr time limit (this was plenty of time to try everything more than once). The staff were very friendly and attentive. What I loved was that even the owner was out there greeting patrons, taking orders and cleaning tables. Food was of high quality with our favourites being the Beef Tataki, Takoyaki and Ika Yaki. The black sesame panna cotta was heavenly! 😋 For drinks we ordered warm house sake & genmaicha tea (would recommend). With great ambience, fantastic staff and high quality food, would really recommend this place to...
