We had a lovely meal at Pad Thai last weekend. Chi and his wife were lovely and Chi let us know on arrival service would be a little slow as they had been inundated. Be prepared to be patient while they are still finding their feet, and allow bit or extra time if you’re going elsewhere afterwards. We booked via the website and Chi confirmed our booking via messanger. They are also still on limited hours and no liquor licence yet but it’s coming soon. You order via a QR code on the table. It was a little confusing at first as rather than it processing individually as we have experienced at other places, it adds everyone’s order in as they do and it kept updating on everyone’s phones order. Just one of us hit submit just in case it ordered it multiple times but I assume there’s a safeguard against that happening. Payment was made up at the counter at the end not via the QR code that’s just for ordering meals. The food was absolutely fantastic and very well priced, I’m sure we will...
Read moreOrdered online via the app. It gave a very large pick up window of 6.30pm-7pm. So we waited at home, then we get a text at 6.17pm saying our order was ready... So it was warm when we arrived. I was so hoping this would be that authentic tasty fresh Thai. I was disappointed, I ordered beef Pad Thai for my partner which he said was ok, I ordered pineapple fried rice which had no discernible pineapple that I could see and tasted like someone had dropped curry powder in it. It clashed with the chicken chilli basil I ordered. The ratio of sauce to meet was out, crispy chicken with no sauce or real flavour, there was a tiny bit of stir fry liquid in bottom of take away container, when I have ordered this classic dish elsewhere it has a sticky delicious hot chili style sauce with the Thai or holy Basil. Anyway yet again we have tried and failed to find decent Thai in Frankston. We will just keep...
Read moreI had a lunch special today. The green curry with chicken on rice was served in a tin enamel plate. I'm Thai so I understand it is a traditional way to serve Thai street food (although it didn't go with the atmosphere of the restaurant). The green curry was mild and had nice fragrant and enough meat. The fried larb coming with it (at extra charge) was nice too. Total bill with a Thai milk tea was $17.90. Good price.
(I read a comment about vegetables in the Pad Thai dish served here. Well, a real Pad Thai comes with beansprout and chives only, not any other vegetables. The sauce should be strong if it's a correct recipe because it's the flavour of tamarind paste and fish sauce. So it sounded like this restaurant already served an authentic dish. I'll try this dish soon and will write a...
