Ordered: Special Spicy Beef and Pork Noodle Soup - bun bo hue dac biet (bbh) Prawn and Pork Vietnamese Pancake - banh xeo As the pancake was going to take 20mins, we shared the noodle soup and it was suggested that we increase the noodle quantity ($3). The bowl was chock full with noodles and meat toppings. Every place has their take on bbh, some more “lemongrassy” than others. The bbh here is very shrimp paste forward and it was quite good. Unfortunately the noodles were a tad too soft. Generous serves of vegetable accompaniment. Had better pancake. The edges were lightly crisp but the middle was soft. The pork in the filling was very dry and the filling was bland. The portion however was well priced. The service was great - attentive and friendly. Busy place and there was a start of queue during the dinner service.

I had mixed feelings dine-ing here. As we entered there was a lady who didnt even bother saying hello. Evn through out when we wanted to grab ome help she only came yo us when its convenient for her. Being we are the only customers there it was a bit annoying to be honest. 😐 Anyways, the gentlemen greet us and we end up ordering a lemon soda and a corona. The lemon soda was just poured on a flat soda and was just squeezed a few drops of lime I guess. We started with 6 prawn dumplings $15. The plate up or dishing was not that happy about but the dumplings were ok. For the mains we had the combination fried rice, unfortunately this had put me off. Unfortunately, this was not as to my best experience 🥴

With so many Vietnamese restaurants on this block alone, Phuong Nam is my go to for banh canh. Only because they use tapioca noodles where most places use rice noodles. Is it weird that I just love the texture of tapioca noodles? Overall: 3.5/5 Nice place for a simple dinner. The broth can sometimes be a miss (bland) and ingredients could be a little fresher (frozen for too long / dry). Ordered: • Shrimp and pork tapioca noodle soup / Banh canh tom thit $16 • Chicken pho $16 (?) • Spring rolls $8 Price: Standard Service: Standard Venue: Lots of seating indoors. Back and front entrance. Was I full? Yes.

We lost all our appetites because of the worst customer service and barely touched our meal. Just wasted our time and money for the worst restaurant.

When I was googling this restaurant I expected too much. It was highly rated and have a lot of nice reviews. However, My wife and I were very disappointed at their customer service.

When we were ordering, we asked about a dish which we didn’t order and an old man who took our order misunderstood that we ordered that dish as well. So he gave us an additional dish.

We said we didn’t order one of the dish and he suddenly argued with us.

His customer service was very disappointing. He barely speaks English , did not double check when he took order and just blamed us for miscommunication without any apology.

Finally he understood what we tried to say but he only said we don’t need to pay for the extra dish without say sorry.

I don’t understand why we had to have argument with him and why he didn’t apologize to us. Other staffs apologized to us when we paid for the rest of the meals but we did not get any apology from him until we left the restaurant even though it...

We visited on a very hot 38 degree day, checked beforehand if venue was air conditioned (it was). Unfortunately with the back door left open and a front door continually opening and not closing properly the air conditioning struggled to be felt. Service was slow, we waited half an hour to have our orders taken while watching 3 other tables who had come in after us get served first, it took a few attempts to get their attention. The waitress was not very helpful when asked about the menu due to a language barrier. When the food arrived about an hour after we did it was very good and price is reasonable. We had to enquire about a missing dish and had three dishes we did not order delivered to us by mistake. Non English speaking kitchen staff were assisting the front of house staff who appeared overwhelmed. Front of house management and non English speaking wait staff are letting down an otherwise...
