Warm and cozy Irish Pub full of staff who are from the Emerald Isle and live music at times. I went there on a weekend for a late lunch with the family and just like in Ireland, you have space to bring your pram and the little one is welcome to sit. Most tables are on the smaller side but there are generous stools and they give you generous but not too big portions in large plates, just like in Ireland. They have arranged the tables in a circular shape around the Bar so at all times you can see the bar and hear the ‘Craic’. There a good mix of booths and open tables and plenty of bar stools - I didn’t see baby seats/chairs but didn’t need one as our kid d sits on chairs now. They had a good selection of beers, but came a bit short on the stout beers (Guinness, but no Murphy’s or Beamish) and no Bulmers Apple or Pear Cider (just like Ireland) - they only had Magners...which more and more is just like Ireland. Would love to go back and try more comfort foods on the menu - we had the roast chicken and veggies and mash special, fish and chips and vegetarian pasta, all great comfort foods on a chilly / rainy day. - I asked and they didn’t serve the thick Irish Brown Bread and potato leak soup you usually get (with Kerry made butter) but make up for it by having a few different people come by to check on you. No one greets when you walk in, you just find yourself a table (just like in Ireland) but there is the Gaelic Irish Greeting (“Cead Mile Failte”) in an authentic looking sign that you see when entering, just like every bar in Ireland. Prices are decent, esp. considering it is Southbank. Did not disappoint and reminded me of the 3 years I lived in Cork.

A great local Irish pub with warm decor that offers classic meals, live music Tuesday to Sunday and sports on TV. Open every day for lunch, dinner or just drinks, with a good selection of local food and drinks for all tastes, and their Happy Hour is every Friday. Food was tasty, juicy, and delicious and very generous in size and reasonably priced. Suggest you try their signature beef and Guinness pie with Guinness sauce, creamy mash potatoes and seasonal vegetables or the pan fried salmon with steamed chats, bruschetta salad and romesco sauce for an out of this World dining experience. Everything was fresh and served quickly, and the staff were friendly and professional too. Seating was very comfortable for couples or families and the restaurant was very clean... and don't forget the pint of Guinness! Very Highly recommended 👏👍😊

This is something out of the ordinary now. They have table service, absolutely love that. The amazing friendly staff come to the table and take your order, bring you water on your arrival and continue to refill it and come back and ask if everything is good or if we need more drinks etc. Rory was our server. He was very bubbly, polite and friendly. We loved having a quick little chat with him. His service was amazing, very tentative to us and watching him work, he hussled all night. They had a live band playing which was great and because of Rory making the place a friendly place we moved to the bar after dinner and had a few more drinks listening to the music. Will definitely go back here on our next Melbourne visit. Thank you Tory for making us realise there are still fun people put there who love their job.

TERRIBLE INCIDENT WITH MANAGEMENT!!

Unfortunately on the 20th of March 2024, there was an incident that happened between myself my partner and two managers.

I was on a date and having a nice drink at Pj O’Briens. As I had gone to the toilet Zack the manager had gone up to my date and told her extremely personal information about my self which I didn’t want to be shared.

This of course escalated with the other manager Paul getting involved. I had never experienced something like this in my life. All 3 of us left the pub to go have a chat outside. I had decided to do this, because I thought this conversation wasn’t appropriate to have inside a public bar. After a calm conversation asking why he decided to share my personal information. He still couldn’t give me a straight answer. Paul had then decided to get involved and lunged at me to punch me. With 0 hesitation and without being provoked. And was only caught by Zack and then bought inside.

I felt targeted even though I had never previously spoken to either of them and get along well with the bar stuff. Not only has this affected my mental health but also my innocent date.

I cannot stress enough to never recommend going to this pub if that’s how the managers are behaving, and treats their...

Nice pub but that's where it stops the staff are lovely but not really on it.

we ordered 3 meals waited almost an hour for food then when it finally came they gave one of us somebody else's meal . Then halfway through the meal they came over with my proper meal. The chicken schnitzel was dry and very bland, the veg with the other meal was cold and unediable. The steak that was 36 AUD was over priced and not very nice yes was ediable but for the cost I expected alot better.

The lighting inside the bar and restaurant were terrible and the ac was too cold to be enjoyable (I know some of these things may be trivial but for the money they charge I expect better) as with all "Irish bars". They prey on tourists to be too caught up in the ooh and aahh look at that or this to notice that infact it is a terrible experience and nobody should base their opinions of Ireland on these tourist traps

So to sum up food is terrible for the price they charge unless your an American this place is...
