For over four years I was going to this store, never encountered any issues. There were also many instances when I arrived at the door approximately three minutes to go before midnight....to pick one or two items and it all went smooth. Today I arrived 7 minutes before midnight and was refused entry by an arrogant door man who told me ...I can let or deny whomsoever I wish. Similarly when the security guard came closer, I requested he calls the store manager or a superior to the door man, yet his answer was ....it's upto him or as he put it....call the police.
Management must seriously follow up this and see if these sorts of people are fit to work there.
Later at the tram stop I met two international students who informed me ten minutes to midnight, the same security man who dismissed my call to summon the store manager was following them around inside the store and insisted they hurry up.
I advised them to make a complaint regarding last night's incident. Hope the two individuals will be replaced by A competent staff who in word and indeed know how to interact...
Read moreA female staff was really rude to us when were doing payments (30 June - 21:00pm+) just because we did not know how to scale / self-checkout the items well. While we were trying to scan the items, she came towards us and snatch the items from our hands and do the scanning by herself with an EXTREMELY RUDE manner; raising voice saying that was teaching us with very sarcastic facial expressions and words. Every action she did, she yelled “SEE?”, “OK?”, “GOT IT?” to us. She even threw the persimmons we wanted to buy very badly on the scale for MANY TIMES just as how she threw tantrums to us as her customer. We were completely shocked and speechless. As a shopper and being a tourist, we have never ever seen such an unprofessional & rude staff and terrible service like this. We saw she even came to her manager/coworker to imitate our actions and telling him with a very sarcastic voice. We still could not believe this kind of service exists and more importantly in a big brand like Coles. This is completely disappointing experience and we do not want to make any purchase...
Read moreColes Central in the Melbourne CBD is always bustling with activity, and for good reason—it’s a vital spot for locals and visitors alike. While the store is small, given its location in the heart of the city, it’s understandable that they’re limited on space. Despite this, the store is still quite effective and offers the essentials needed in a busy urban area.
Given the population density, it’s not realistic to expect a larger space, but more staff could definitely help in improving organization and service. There are often instances where the shelves are left empty, which can be frustrating, especially when it gets crowded. Adding more employees to help restock and manage the flow of customers would make a significant difference in the overall experience.
The store does serve an essential function, but it could benefit from better customer service and a more efficient system to keep up with the...
