My recent visit to Hamer Hall in Melbourne's CBD for a Melbourne Symphony Orchestra concert was an experience that left me absolutely stunned and eager to share. This iconic venue, known predominantly for its classical music performances, exceeded all my expectations and has etched a memorable evening in my heart. From the moment you step inside, Hamer Hall greets you with its breathtaking beauty. The architecture and interior design blend modern aesthetics with classic elegance, creating an atmosphere that's both inviting and awe-inspiring. The attention to detail in the design, combined with the warm and welcoming ambiance, sets the stage for an unforgettable experience even before the performance begins. The staff at Hamer Hall deserve a special mention for their professionalism and friendliness. From the ushers to the service staff at the bars and snack areas, everyone went above and beyond to ensure the guests had everything they needed. Their efforts significantly enhanced the overall experience, making you feel truly valued and cared for. Hamer Hall's acoustics are, without a doubt, among the best I've ever experienced. The clarity and richness of the sound during the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra's performance were simply sublime, allowing every note to be heard in perfect harmony. It's evident that the hall's design not only takes into account the visual appeal but prioritizes acoustic excellence, ensuring that each performance is heard exactly as intended. The venue also offers several bars and spots to grab a snack or a drink during the break, which is a thoughtful touch, adding to the convenience and enjoyment of your visit. These areas are well-maintained and staffed by friendly personnel, making the intermission just as enjoyable as the performance itself. Lastly, the lighting within the building deserves praise. It beautifully complements the architecture and the performances, enhancing the visual experience and adding an extra layer of magic to the evening. Hamer Hall is a gem in Melbourne's crown, offering a perfect blend of visual beauty, acoustic brilliance, and top-notch hospitality. Whether you're attending a classical music concert or any other event, this venue is highly recommended for an experience that's as grand and memorable as the performances it hosts.

Went to watch the MSO "The Making of the Orchestra" performance and it was an awesome experience! It might have been perfect if only parents wouldn't take such young children that are not expected not only to endure almost a interrupted hour of any activity, much less full enjoy and perceive what's happening in front of them... To all those families, I would recommend the concerts for babies and toddlers also performed by MSO throughout the year. Other than that, you can't really tell that it lasts for almost an hour! Time does fly when you're having fun! One last tip: I booked the stalls tickets, right beneath upper seats. For the purpose of this performance, it's much better having the upper seats instead, as they allow the children to look down at the Orchestra and really tell which instrument is playing and when.

Went and saw Macy Gray at Hamer Hall recently. Not only was the queue to get a drink pre show, ridiculously long, the bar stayed closed for the entire show! There was no intermission and no further drinks/snacks. The door ‘bxtches’ complained to us about having a Maltese’s box on the balustrade, and then complained when I took a 3 sec video with my light on (despite several people directly opposite me doing multiple photos and videos with their lights on and a flash going off) There was NO merch available which also made me crazy, but I was told that there would be some for sale at intermission! (But there was no intermission) The free coat checking was awesome and efficient and very well executed! All other staff need some training and knowledge! PS Macy is AWESOME!!!

Saw the spectacular Jessica Mauboy perform at Hamer Hall! It is such an easy place to find and is perfect walking distance from Flinders Street station and a myriad of dining places. The interior is beautiful; classy and regal. There are mirrors, red carpets, textured walls and elegant bars on each level. There are also multiple toilets on every level, that are easily accessible and always clean. The show was running late, so we had to stand outside and wait. There isn't any shelter outside, so I was glad it wasn't raining! The lighting is also very poor outside, and became dangerous for everyone as we walked inside because we couldn't see our feet! Overall, it was a great night. Hamer Hall and its staff were superb!

Hamer hall is a great place to see a show, the staff are the best caring about you having a great time. Being there to see Joanna Lummy with a wonderful to Lady using a wheelchair, we got to see the extra consideration and top class assistance by the staff getting to and from the theater. There is plenty of room for the chair and companion card is accepted 😊. The accessible toilet is a left hand rail on the top floor the ground floor has one as well now nice and big giving plenty of room to move. Taxi is easy to get in and out of the parking says you may need to call security to access the lift to get up to, unfortunately I can not give you an accurate account of how that works.

Close to trams this event venue is in the Arts Precinct of Melbourne. It is the last building before the bridge after the theatre venue. Free Wi-Fi is available for patrons and is easy to get connected. Your mobile service may not work here (mine did not) but if you access the Wi-Fi you should be able to download or connect to your ticket for entrance to the concert hall. This venue has escalators and lifts so it is wheelchair and walker accessible. There is a place to leave your walker near the back wall and plenty of room for wheelchair positioning for viewing. The venue has a bar for drinks to be purchased on each floor.
