Amazing place! We wonder why it is not more popular. We haven't read others review yet but we will. The atmosphere of the restaurant with the nice decorations is very plasant. The staff is very helpfull and kind. The food is just so yummy. We had the entree plater and we shared it. Then we had soups and for mains fish, satay chicken (that is my favourite!) Well done to the chef.I had coconut water (with cocunut pieces!) We will return for sure and try other dishes too. It is hard to find vegetarian restaurants. (I will recommend it for my other friends too. Some of them they do not eat garlic and onion or eggs. They also can find planty of options. As a little improvment I can only say if they would have alcohol on the menu... That also not a big issue as you cross the road and you can find a bottle shop there. I can not say anything about the parking as we...

The food here is so good I forgot to even take a picture until we were halfway through! We ordered the potato croquette, steamed dumplings, hot plate tofu, coconut butter chicken, char me, katsu curry and coconut rice. I honestly have no complaints about any of the dishes we ordered. It was all super delicious and I love being able to order vegan friendly food whilst still being able to enjoy the taste of "meat". As some reviewers mentioned, it is a little pricey but I would say it's pretty in line with other mock meat restaurants in Melbourne. Totally worth it nonetheless. The staff are really friendly as well and the atmosphere is quite nice. There's also ample street parking in the side streets...

A hidden (or maybe not so hidden given the ratings) gem in the heart of Elsternwick.

I've lived in the area my whole life and been past Ren Dao hundreds of times, never giving it a second thought. 3 years into being vegan, a friend recommended Ren Dao as a birthday dinner option. And it did not disappoint!

My partner and I, who are vegan, have never felt so spoiled for choice. The staff were welcoming, friendly and happy to make recommendations. My partners parents, who are happy to eat vegetarian but enjoy meat, thoroughly enjoyed the food too.

Since then, we've made Ren Dao a regular for takeout nights. Our favourites are the Kung Po Chicken and...

Food is above average. They do vegetarian food but taste like meat. 🐠🐠We ordered chef special fried fish which is stunning! Fish is crispy and tender while sauce really makes the dish stands out. If you like sweet and sour, definitely go for this one! 2nd dish, lion head. It’s an traditional Chinese dish made from veggies. Doesn’t really taste like the original lion head but sauce again is amazing! Like the soft mushroom full of flavor! 🍜 Last dish, fried noodle (last on in the noodle section), bit oily. Average noodle taste. Nothing speacialb Overall, a nice vegetarian restaurant worth trying. Above average

If you’re in Melbourne’s southeastern suburbs and looking for vegetarian or vegan options, this restaurant is a hidden gem you shouldn’t miss. The menu is extensive, offering a great variety of starters, soups, and main dishes — all full of flavor. You’ll be warmly welcomed by a lovely lady who makes you feel right at home. The atmosphere transports you straight into the heart of the Asian community, with authentic vibes and decor. Conveniently located right across from Elsternwick Station, it’s super easy to reach by public transport. Definitely worth a visit!
