Local ladies group booked to have a function on Thursday, to say we were less than impressed is an understatement. In the lead up to the function we meet with Jill a few times to discuss the menu and costings. Jill was quite rude toward us. When we requested to bring individual desserts we were told we could only bring a cake, which was easily adjusted, however, to be informed we would be charged $4 per person for the staff to cut and serve the cake because "She would have to pay staff to stay back to collect and wash the dishes" is ridiculous considering the other option was to still pay $4 per person if we cut the cake and the staff would still need to collect the dishes and wash them. When we asked if coffee was included we were told to speak to the manager of the coffee bar who rudely told us "Absolutely not, it would take 3 hours to make 80 coffees", when we asked if we could bring the coffee, she again rudely as she was getting in the elevator "Absolutely not". This should have been an indication to cancel. However, we had 80+ people booked for the function and at late notice we were not able to find an alternative venue.

Come the day of the function we opted for ravioli's for the entree, we take into account that guest arrived late and therefore, entrees were served late, however, when they were served the ravioli's were cold, hard and stuck together. Part of our package for the mains were to have equal serves of chicken and fish, however, when we were served, it was mainly chicken that was served. When we enquired we were told that there was no fish left. We had a 6 guest not able to come but still had to pay for them. Those meals were not served and we had to ask them to serve them as we paid for them and it allowed guest to have a little extra if they wanted. To our surprise, what came out, the fish they run out of. We asked if we could bring rolls and told no, they would provide rosette rolls, we got what looked like the bake at home from Coles.

The only positive from the day was the manager from the RSL who cut and served the cake without charging the $4 per person. For that we were very grateful.

This is one of mine and my husband's favourite places to dine at when we are in town! ♥ The staff is warm and attentive, and we aren't ever waiting for anything when we visit, which is nice since many other food places are very touch and go when traveling. We always make a point to dine in and relax on our stays, and if we had to pick a favourite dish for each of us, I very much enjoy the scallop and prawn capellini, and my husband frequently talks about the souzoukakia and orders it often in the times we've stopped in. ^_^ We tried our hand at making a souzoukakia at home while we were away, but it absolutely does not hold a candle to the one here by any means; and does not fix his craving until we dine in again and he can get the real deal. lol! XD Definitely a sharp place, warm staff, and to die-for food. And the sea food honestly doesn't get any fresher, And I'm a very picky sea-fooder. lol Long story short, five stars all around if you're looking for a cozy place with quality, healthy, yet hearty...

We often would go to the Reservoir RSL for a delicious homestyle cooked dinner but afer last night NOT AGAIN. The chef and menu has changed and on 1st impressions not for the better. My husband ordered roast lamb which he said was like carved souvlaki meat with gravy slapped on top I ordered grilled barramundi with vegetables when ordering I was asked if mashed potato was ok and I said yes. When my dinner was brought out it was accompanied with roast not mashed potatoes that were sprinkled with Rosemary to which I have an allergy and some unappetizing looking vegatables. The dish was taken back and was delivered with dry lumpy mash and grilled barramundi swimming in oil I was offered vegetables but declined. The prices in the bistro have been increased but the quality and variety has decreased and what I paid for what I was dished up was appalling there was no specials for dinner on offer either. We used to recommend this venue for meals but...
