Read more$8.50 per slice .., Stale Vanilla slice without any custard filling inside - where is the love gone chef ? Rex Espresso's Vanilla Slice in the heart of Camberwell lies Rex Espresso, a quaint haven promising delightful culinary experiences. However, my recent encounter with their vanilla slice was anything but delightful. The pastry, once promising crispness, yielded to a stale old leftover couple pieces to sell , texture that left much to be desired. The vanilla custard, typically the star of this classic treat, fell short in both flavor and freshness & consistency that tasted over 1week old , tasting oddly synthetic soggy and devoid of the rich, creamy notes one would expect. It's disheartening to encounter my worst ever vanilla slice ever eaten ever. One can only hope that Rex Espresso takes heed of this critique and endeavors to elevate its pastry game, ensuring that future patrons are greeted with fresh, flavorful treats worthy of their Camberwell locale. Attached photos summarise every thing, my advice is once your desserts are over 3-4 days old please don’t try & sell them at $8.50 per slice seriously people aren’t stupid put them in bin please !!
Absolute disgrace - food...

I waited for 10 min before coming out to ask for it. Somehow she realised she brought it to the empty table nearby, didn’t bother to check around. She threw the croissant on my table again without saying a word of apology and ask if the toasted croissant's was too cold. I guess she had a bad day but there are at least 5 people running that medium size cafe (no hot food), there is no excuse to provide such bad customer experience to the point I believe it was intentional & personal. Please change and be better. The food & drink was...
