Rizin's Smash Burgers — Restaurant in Melbourne

I try to say it as it is so here goes. I don't pander to businesses in just writing them a good review and I like to be thorough. So here goes..

I don't really like eating in however at a glance the Mitcham store is clean and well maintained. The burgers here are incredible. Are they as good as what we make at home? I'm not going to say yes, but they are close. They are juicy and flavorsome. For the price nothing comes close. Their burgers are the best in town. A triple Rizin Classic burger is $13.75. It's extremely filling and even though I purchase a side of chips, they were difficult to finish. Well done Rizin's...I hope you are around for a long time. I've now eaten your burgers multiple times and I have been nothing less than impressed. Just a note. The last time I did a phone order but to the Dandenong store by mistake instead of Mitcham. After 10 minutes, I realised and called them to admit my mistake. They said no worries and were happy to let it go without me paying. Thanks guys, you are awesome. Ordered takeaway today around 6.15pm in the form of a Rizin's Classic combo with chips and a drink. There wasn't too much in the ways of variety, but this isn't necessarily a bad thing as it reduces confusion and clutter. Would like to see the potential to add an egg to burgers in future.

It was quite busy at the time, tables indoors were full and there was a queue, so about a 15 minute wait for my order.

Burger was surprisingly tasty, well presented, patty not dry and seasoned nicely. Would've personally enjoyed my bun toasted so it was crispy but not a big issue. Also, the tomato slice I was given was a bit green on the unripe side. Again, not a big issue but it did affect the taste and look somewhat.

The chips, however, were a little sub-par. Seasoning was tasty but the batch I had received was a bit on the pale side and limp - rather than a bit crunchy and golden-brown. Might I recommend the chipper just to judge by eye and continue frying for maybe another 30 seconds to 1 minute - that would've been perfect!

Rizin Smash Burgers is easily one of the best burger spots I’ve been to. The burgers are incredible — full of flavour, perfectly smashed, and the chips are just as good. You can really taste the quality in every bite.

I’ve seen a few reviews mention the thick shakes not being great. I haven’t tried them yet myself, but I’m keen to give them a go next time.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The only minor downside is the wait time — both times we visited, it took around 20 minutes to get our food. For this style of place, it feels a little long, but honestly, the quality of the burgers makes it worth the wait.

A couple of small suggestions:

• It would be helpful to have napkins and cutlery available at the counter for self-serve instead of asking each time. • A mini cheeseburger option for kids’ meals would be amazing — perfect for families.

Overall, highly recommend this place. Great food, great people, and definitely somewhere I’ll keep...
