The barisa is experienced and it is a nice small Cafe to be in. Staff are generally kind. Not many seats inside but you can also sit outside. Requested for filter and there was a h3 varietal available. From memory price was $10 (don't quote me on this) which is a bit costly for the experience. The cup was fine but not exceptional compared to cheaper and more efficient methods such as batch brew, however please note that taste is very subjective so your experience will vary. I also ordered a toastie (also $10). Given the price it meets expectations. Edit: response to owner. Hi Angus If you read this, thank you for your message. I agree with the content about the time and effort to takes to brew. To be fair to viewers: bean quality - don't think it's worth mentioning Gesha and the price point as this is not what I drank. As for recipe, please tell me as I am curious. It's my first time trying a H3 varietal, so no expectations off the bat. For me it had a very muted acidity without a much of a pronounced flavour but good body. I drank it fast (approx 15 mins) and had toastie which will affect my interpretation. At home we brew single dose v60 with different varietals and origins (never blend), light to medium roasts. Usually 18g beans with 2x60g blooms over 1 to 2 minutes depending on how fresh the roast is and finish up in 3 pours, usually two centre and one circle (total 300g - 330g water). For the beans I've tried the temperature brewed ranges from 88 to 97 degrees and also tried some "weird" recipes including shocking the water to 70 degrees partway. We can't compare grinders, no doubt yours are well seasoned and with your experience have dialled in accordingly. But let me know how to tackle H3 at home. Thanks!

Such a lovely cafe, adding some trendy vibes to Mitcham. Located just outside Coles, this place is prefect for a post-shopping break. Coffee is consistently smooth and the milk temperature is prefect. Guest blend Raspberry Candy is a must try - it won the World Barista Champion in 2015. The owners are big coffee fans and spend a lot of time procuring the best specialty coffee blends. The brunch board was delicious, eggs poached to perfection. Their croissants and doughnuts are made by French chefs and freshly baked on site every morning. The apple doughnut is light and fluffy, not overly sweet. This is definitely the best coffee in Mitcham!

I don't understand why this is highly reviewed. It's a really bad brunch cafe. Wouldn't give one star if I could. My apologies if I sounded too angry. I went in expecting to eat good brunch on a weekend. It can be highly subjective but pulled pork had a very strong smell of Chinese spice. I couldn't pinpoint what it was. It was more suited to Chinese food and not brunch. I also didn't like the idea of just giving pulled pork without any bread. I found it too salty to be eaten without bread. The food on the dishes did not match well. It wasn't brunch to me.

Service today was absolutely atrocious! We ordered 2 almond lattes and when brought to us was normal - didn’t end there the wait staff accused us of lying and we didn’t order the almond - without even hearing our side, stormed off and then comes the manager. Same story , didnt want to hear and at last said - so she is new and we are under the pump. Customer service at its worst! Never going to visit this place again.

Mate if you know we have been coming for two years, what does that show? We liked your cafe, the coffee and the ambience.

your wife was rude and blatantly said to us that we are lieing and didn't order the almond latte! Customer service is utmost important to the industry you are in and after all that, when you came you didn’t want to understand the situation or hear the customer’s side.

you heard your wife’s side but not ours. That clearly shows how are you managing your staff and your business.

discuss with your union or whosever you want too - you were wrong that day and nobody can change that fact!

good luck as you have lost 7 of us for sure.

Reply to your latest and this is my final comment

Firstly we have never replaced a coffee or you haven’t replaced anything for free.

if you and your wife are crying for $2 - do you think you would have done it for free for us

you have a cafe in Mitcham - its a prieum suburb in Melbourne east and all your customers come from the community - do you think people will try to save $2

We ordered 7 coffees and a roll - total bill approx $40 - do you think we will bother for an extra $2?

mate enough is enough, I have no time and effort’s to argue with you anymore. People can read both are comments and make decision if they want to visit your place or...

In my opinion, the coffee from this shop is the worst I have ever had. It tasted burnt, and I think the milk may have been starting to go off. I enjoy trying new shops, but this shop is cold and in a very unattractive area; the wind blows like an Arctic blast down the walkway, and the atmosphere is very unappealing, with used syringes sometimes found in the area. There are many other coffee shops in Mitcham that I believe serve a better product - perhaps give some others a try

The business owner writes the following: "We just came back from holiday The milk was just arrived within a week, the center have their own cleaner, I never seen any used syringes, perhaps might be yours? you might need to check your taste buds or focus on your own business"

THE RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER SHOWS HOW MUCH HE/SHE CARES ABOUT THE CUSTOMER. THEY CALL THEIR CUSTOMERS LIARS AND ACCUSE THEM OF USING SYRINGES. THE OWNER REALLY NEEDS TO LEARN SOME CUSTOMER SERVICE AND STOP BEING SO AGGRESSIVE AND MAKING LIBELOUS COMMENTS

UPDATE I went back to this shop as a friend of mine is working on the old Coles store. He wanted to try Project Black. I told him not to, but it was close by.

Anyway, the experience was even worse; there was something off in the food, and the owner was the rudest person I have ever met. The atmosphere is cold and miserable, and there is even a dodgy massage shop next door, and what looked like mouse poo outside.

Avoid this shop unless you want to get gastro or worse.

I also visited the area one evening to collect my friend after work. The shop was closed, but there was rubbish all over the ground near the shop — just a horrible...
