Used to be my favourite place but getting disappointed most of the time I go there now.
I always order the pho but the last two times I went there, my pho was lukewarm when it came at the table and I like it hot. There is a sign in the kitchen that says "pho need to be piping hot before leaving the kitchen, feel the bowl". Obviously it wasn't checked.
The second time when I went there was two weeks ago and I ordered mixed chicken and beef pho.
When my order came and unfortunately, after I have already started eating I realised there was no chicken just beef.
I was still ok with this as mistakes happens until I started eating the beef and realised that it was rear...
I actually got a wrong order and I almost puke in my bowl as I can't eat rear beef. (No offence to those who like rear beef).
I called one of the waitress and told her about it. She proposed to cook it a bit more when infact she should have changed the order to the right one.
Unfortunately, even though she put it in the microwave, the beef was still rear when she brought it back and blood was running through the soup. (Picture below)
As such, I didn't even touch it and walked out.
I felt like I wasted my money on that day and the pleasure of enjoying what used to be my comfort food was spoilt.
For sure I won't go...
Read moreThankfully my expectations were low or I would have been very disappointed. I'm used to delicious home style cooked Vietnamese from a little South Melbourne mum and dad store so Roll'd did not taste very good. The rice paper rolls were ok, but the sauce was fully yuck. It is supposed to be hearty and peanutty, this was just nothing. The bao was ok, nothing to write home about. The bread broke in half which it should not do. The bùn was a NO. Utterly tastless (where was the sauce that it comes with at every proper Vietnamese store??) And the noodles stuck together in a lump. The whole thing was devoid of taste. Overall a 1/10 because the overcooked, dry beef had a nice lemon grass taste to it.
In conclusion, if I hadn't eaten in months and it was my only option aside from eating my own limbs, I'd have Roll'd again. Otherwise...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Pho in Fountain Gate. I ordered the lemongrass beef roll, but there was no lemongrass flavour at all. The beef was dry and completely tasteless. When I mentioned the issue, the staff didn’t seem to care—they just offered to pour some juice on the bread, which I found unacceptable. I declined, as that wasn’t a proper solution.
To make matters worse, I was with my client, who has a disability, and the staff treated him with a complete lack of respect. Their attitude was rude from the start, and the way they handled both the food and the service was very unprofessional.
I won’t be returning and would not recommend this place to others, especially if you value good food and...
