Saigon River Resto — Restaurant in Melbourne

First and last visit. Unfortunately it wasn’t an enjoyable experience here. The extremely slow service and atmosphere, plus the high prices (AND the need to add GST on top of the menu price) really let down this restaurant. It felt like i was in a flailing game of Overcooked on an easy level.

Decent noodle soup, not bad but also not great that it was worth waiting 1hr for. The spring rolls are served in a puddle of water due to the soaking wet pile of lettuce leaves next to it on the plate.

Food comes out one dish at a time. So you’ll have other people on your table watching you eat for 15min before their food comes out.

There is no music in the restaurant, just the silence of frustrated diners surrounding you looking around wondering where their food is and why it’s taking so long + the looping sound of the food delivery orders jingle.

It seems like they have no system/enough resources to handle both restaurant diners and takeaway orders. And it seems like in restaurant diners are not prioritised at all....

Never in my life have I been so disappointed by a restaurant and their lack of common courtesy. Whilst the food and the service was decent. I was shocked to discover that I was charged for table water. TABLE WATER from the tap with some iced cubes for $2. I have never seen this in a restaurant before and I am appalled that an establishment would even charge for tap water. After reading some reviews I have discovered that Table Water is on their drinks menu, we did not look at the drinks menu because we did not intend to order drinks. Neither did the server inform us of the charge when we asked for it. Unfortunately this restaurant has lost our respect and therefore business as we will not be returning. I’m not sure that...

Terrible experience. Extremely slow service. Food was so so, can find anywhere, doesn't worth to wait for an hour.

Sat down with an uncleaned table and been ignored. Ordered entree, main and drinks. Wait for approximate an hour for the main, followed by a wrong entree after finishing the main. Double confirmed but the staff insisted that was the one. They delivered the right dish after 10 minutes and realised they mixed up the orders. Cashier tried to charge the drinks that have never been served.

I could see the staff struggled between the kitchen and the front. I feel sorry for them but they only concerned the big tables rather than first come first serve. Very...
