TOAST IT! Moorabbin — Restaurant in Melbourne

As first time (almost) customers, we had a negative experience this morning at Toast-it. We waited in the cold for 25 minutes for our toasties before learning (thanks to another customer’s realisation) that they had given our order to that customer 10 minutes prior and it had been sitting in their car ever since. When raising this with the staff, we got a nonchalant “oh sorry; the other guy must have taken your order” - there was no real apology, and they let the other guy keep our toasties in addition to his own. After a further almost 10 mins of waiting we requested a refund. Dear toast-it staff, here are some suggestions for how this could have been handled differently at almost every step of the way: 1. Use your giant glass windows to notice when customers are standing around for 25 minutes outside 2. Call names properly and ensure orders are correct (I understand mistakes are made) 3. If a genuine mistake is made on your end, perhaps offer the customer something - a coffee, a future discount code, perhaps even our original cold order in addition to a fresh order (you know, rather than the other customer who lost nothing and gained 2 free toasties) 3. an actual genuine apology; at no point along the way was there any offer to appease our obvious increasing irritation. Delicious toasted sandwiches. A lot of choice too. As a vegetarian I usually have the Avo Smash but could also have a Falafel or a roasted vegetable one while my husband always happy with The Classic (ham and cheese). Coffee nice too. However as place popular there is always a wait of about 15 minutes to get toasties whereas only takes about 5 minutes to get coffee. 13.6 Toast It only place open due to Public Holiday, so thanks Toast It! 3.4.23 sometimes triple cheese toadtie is all you want, so thanks Toast It and really good soy latte too. 17.4 after shopping grabbed a Plain Payne (triple cheese toastie). Ordered the Salmon and ice chocolate on the phone to pick up.( so i can save time) the salmon is five stars no doubt ! so delicious! but the ice chocolate is so bad. it is full of ice and ice cream which has not much to drink. normally ice chocolate with ice cream do not have ice unless the cup is large enough for both or having a good balance btw milk, ice and ice cream. so i asked for a little bit more milk and the staff pour a lots in it which made the drink become less favourable.lt taste like ice milk with ice cream. the most dissapointing thing is i have paid and got my drink when i arrived the store but waited for more than 30 mins to get my toast until i ask them…: and they dont know that i have arrived…. so clearly the staff who charged my money and made my drink did not communicate with the staff who made the toast.
