Reply to owner respond : Thank you for your response. I want to clarify that my review is genuine and based on my visit in March. I understand your need to defend your business, but I stand by my experience and feedback.

As someone who also works in hospitality, I don’t always have the time to post reviews immediately, which is why mine came a little later. I’ve attached my Amex transaction as proof of my visit.

To be clear, my comment about cleanliness referred to the shelf/table wall area—not the bar shelf as you mentioned. When seated at the two-person table in the middle of the restaurant front of the bar, the dirty floor and buildup of dust around the bar area were quite visible. I believe feedback, even when critical, can be valuable and hope it’s taken as such.

— Absolutely horrendous place—I can't believe it exists. We just moved to the area and are always on the lookout for a good local spot to become regulars. This place caught our eye because of its high Google reviews, but unfortunately, it’s just not for us. It took us a while to finally give it a try, and we weren’t expecting anything fancy—just hoping for a well-cooked burger and hot chips.

But our first visit will definitely be our last.

The place was filthy, with a humid, musty smell. The tables and chairs were uneven, and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. There was thick dust on the shelves—like something out of a horror movie. I originally wanted fish and chips, but they weren’t available. So we both ordered burgers.

Each of us received one burger with a side of soggy chips. The burger buns were cold, the meat tasted like it came from a supermarket and had been overcooked until dried then thrown together with zero care. The salad was pathetic—just a few leaves and barely any dressing. Honestly, I’d rather use that dressing for toilet paper.

It was a total nightmare, especially for the price. I’d rather throw my money in the bin. I’m sorry to say this about someone’s business, but it’s the hard truth. It makes me sad that places like this are busy, while genuinely good spots remain quiet—just because people don’t know or appreciate real quality

We spend $100+ in two people two burgers one entree chicken wings one beer and one cocktail. I think it was also on service charge day. But there was no service as you had to order...

Wilbury and Sons offering Christmas in July $50 a head for 2 courses plus drinks so of course we went! I had vegetarian roast with cauliflower, potatoes, beans and carrots while husband had same vegetables plus Turkey roast. We then shared chocolate brownie and ice-cream and bread and butter pudding, yum. Also had beer and sparkling. Unfortunately they don't do coffee so went out to get. Wilbury and Sons have some great retro decor (posters of Beatles, Elvis, Dylan and James Dean) and old timey light shades, excellent. Will go again and try veggie burger while husband keen to try loaded fries. Note - Joshua Batten performing here, beginning in August, don't miss! 26.8 so here for Josh and after a rocky start because of football, he did great and got crowd pumping at Wilbury, so if haven't been you should, you'd like it. Note had vegetarian tacos which were good and fries and Proseccos. 23.9 here to see Joshua B so good! And yes obligatory Prosecco and chips. Wilbury has good vibe, if you haven't been good to check out. 25.2.24 here for Wilbury's 3rd bday! Had usual Prosecco(s) while friends had cocktails and white wine. Had delicious hoummos dip, however had to ask for extra bread/crackers as didn't get enough, as quite a lot of dip, and no problem we got. Thanks Wilbury! 27.4. Back for Xmas in July, $59 per head for 4 courses, plus drinks. Brilliant - look forward to next year's! Thanks...

Wilbury & Sons recently hosted our work Christmas function and it was a great experience all round! Kylie helped organise everything and she was super accomodating and made the process very easy. Byron was also amazing and very helpful and welcoming on the night, all of the staff there are incredibly friendly and good at what they do, they made sure everyone had a great night! The staff even stayed back late for us because everyone was having such a good time we weren't ready to leave, we are very thankful to the staff working that night for being so great. Everyone loved the food and the drinks were also fantastic! The location is so convenient and the venue itself has a great atmosphere and an awesome set up including a spacious outdoor seating area, it was the perfect venue for our function. Can't thank the team at Wilbury & Sons enough, would definitely recommend them and I know lots of us will be coming back to enjoy the good food/drinks/vibes! (Thanks to Kylies help organising we also had Josh Staley the magician at our function and I highly recommend him as well, he was truly awesome and had everyone in awe and laughing, everyone loved it and is still...

TLDR: Good food, good drinks, reasonable pricing and a great atmosphere. Family friendly. Wilburys is a hidden gem in Moorabbin. Fairly unassuming from the outside - most people don’t even know that it’s there. Inside, it’s everything you want in a local bar. Good beer, good food, friendly service, cosy and reasonably priced. It can sometimes get a little busy at prime times as it’s not the biggest place around - but booking ahead is easy to do. Booking ahead (and this is true everywhere these days) saves disappointment. Trivia on Wednesdays is normally a full house and loads of fun. They regularly have live music there which is awesome. Recommendations: the Guinness is top notch, house cocktails are also good. In wintertime, the mulled wine is excellent. Good burgers, great parmi. Great to see a real venue like this rather than the cookie cutter commercial pubs that are so prevalent these days.
