Sheila Coffee & Food cafe — Restaurant in Melbourne

This would have to be one of the best hidden gems in Melbourne. I get my dog groomed at Wolfman.ground who are the best groomer around. I then thought I’d try this cafe for lunch and coffee.

I am absolutely blown away by the service, food and atmosphere. I’m literally sitting outside in the sun with the most delicious Eggs Benny with pork shoulder. I have eggs Benny everywhere and this is one of the best I have ever had. Eggs cooked to perfection nice and runny and the pork shoulder was delicious. Combine that with Hollandaise sauce and omg.

The service was just polite and happy and helpful. The amazing lady even came out and apologised I had to wait a little longer for my meal as they wanted to whip up some fresh Hollandaise.

I mean come on. No cafe anywhere in Melbourne ever does this. I will be back and I’ll be telling everyone about this place. They care about their customers and have such great food.

Also the coffee was spot on and up there with anything around Melbourne. You can tell they have huge attention to detail and put their heart and soul into their cafe.

The good: 📌 The quality of the ingredients in the Big Breakfast was of high quality - fresh and generous cut of avocado, the bacon was a good cut with less fat and more meat, two big pieces of mushrooms, and the haloumi and eggs were pan fried to perfection.

The ok: We came for the coffee as we heard it's their own blend. Unfortunately it was very underwhelming. The coffee lacks aroma and the taste was bland. We ordered the large flat white and I couldn't even taste the coffee.

The bad: 📌 Service was SUPER slow. Our food took over 45 mins to arrive on the table despite us being the own customer still waiting for food in the cafe (the only other two tables were already eating when we arrived). 📌 The meat in the homemade sausage roll tasted nice (if you like herb flavours) but unfortunately it wasn't very fresh, the pastry tasted like it has been in the fridge for a couple of days. 📌 The kids porridge was bland with very little oat. The milk to oat ratio wasn't right. 📌 Service was okay but not very friendly. A smile in hospitality trade...
