Friends, let me tell you about the sumptuous experience I had today. It is the middle of the Melbourne winter, in the midst of Covid lockdown 2.0 and I find myself drawn to the ominous craving of fried chicken. Was it Harland Sanders’ famous hot and spicy you ask? No it was not. Instead it was the allure of a newly opened establishment by the name of Gami chicken and beer, located at Brickworks in blackburn. As a self proclaimed connoisseur of takeaway food, I knew these guys meant business. Both from a hygiene perspective with their vigilant high standard of PPE, as well as from a flavour perspective, with their wide product offering, which included a delectable selection of chicken bastings and sauces. In addition to the regular fan fare, they also top off the flavour charts with nice additions like the potato heaven dish, which is unquestionably aptly named. Suffice to say, not only did I over order; I also over ate. It is only now, many hours later, after having found myself on the other side of an instant food coma, being my bodies only way of dealing with the caloric intake, that I have been able to compose myself enough to post this review. If there is any shadow of doubt left in your minds, definitely go for the whole chicken with 50/50 garlic soy and spicy sauces. You. Will....

Worst Gami in Melbourne! Waited for 30 mins for food and didn’t get our salad until I went up three times to ask for it. Food was tasteless, had to ask for salt and even the sauces had absolutely no flavour or taste. We got there was a sign in the front to wait to be seated, and some people just came and went straight to the table and ordered at the counter, when we were told to order via a scan code online.

Got cheated with the food portion!!!!! Ordered $21 “regular” bones less chicken and got a wee bowl of bones less chicken, and $46 for such a small portion!!!! With the way rates are going up these days, these people think they can steal your money and serve you little portions!!!! I am so pissed at this place, does not deserve anyone’s hard earned money, ripping people off with their little portions!

So annoying!!!!

We ordered the exactly the same amount of food at Gami chicken Fountain Gate and we couldn’t finish it, got it here at Gami Burwood and the regular chicken was so small it wouldn’t feed a small child. So annoying to spend this amount of money on food that we’re served in...

The staff are amazing!! They were so helpful and attentive. The chicken here is similar to Momos Chicken & Beer in Brisbane. But let me tell you - the service here was nothing like Momos. Usually at Momos they give you a single napkin, barely any water, and don’t talk to you. Here they give you several napkins, offer to fill up your water, and are really lovely. Amazing food and amazing staff! Btw the chicken is VERY spicy if you go spicy flavor. Beware. Your mouth will be on fire. The dumplings were great & if you do go, please get the passion fruit mocktail - literally a lolly in drink form! The only issue was that I made a booking online and they called and texted me four different times with different messages about whether I could dine in - all conflicting.
