Smokin' Joes Pizza & Grill Berwick — Restaurant in Melbourne

My experience is very similar to Damon’s review of 3 months previously, except the staff were not rude, so it does appear that the service problem has not been rectified.

We ordered Pizza by phone for delivery in Berwick and our order was confirmed at 5.36 pm. We were told to expect delivery in 45 minutes.

After 1 hr 30 min we phoned to find out what had happened and were told our order was “ on its way”

We live less than 5 minutes from the shop

After a further 20 minutes we called again and this time we were told the delivery driver was “ at the traffic lights” but there are no traffic lights between the shop and our place.

The pizza arrived 2 hours after we had ordered.

We have ordered from this shop many times in the past without any problems.

Forgetting an order is annoying, but will happen every now and again. But nobody likes being given told a load of rubbish (twice) concerning the delivery time.

I wonder if the pizza shop is under new owners?

Moved to Berwick recently so I'd thought id give them a try early December 2021. Ordered a large half/half pizza where I didn't have an issue for paying an extra $1.50 and also asked them to make the base slightly thinner. I paid the for pizza and left. When I came to pick it up 15min later , I was told I had to pay another $1.50 for asking the base to be thinner! I spoke to the Manager/Owner I asked why wasn't I notified at the time when I paid for it, he replied, "we forgot" and said there is extra effort on making the base thinner. I asked my friends that I saw recently if they ever paid extra to ask for thinner base pizza, not 1 person has except me! It wasn't about paying the extra $1.50 after paying for the pizza when I picked it up, it was how rude he was and trying to justify the effort it takes to make a base thinner even though he is saving money on the dough. love to know if anyone pays extra for thinner...
