SERVICE HAS GONE DOWN HILL!!! We had made reservation for a table of four at 8:30 pm on Sunday, the 28th. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. Disappointing enough for me to leave this review. I wouldn't normally but this was so bad I felt I needed to so other people didn't waste their money at this place, Especially with the cost-of-living rising most ppl really can't afford to go out anymore but I would hate for someone to have planned a special night and ended up here soooo... We ordered steaks, all priced over $60, and selected our sides. However, the steaks were not cooked properly, the sides were mixed up with the wrong steaks, and one steak was served blue. This resulted in a delay as we had to ask for it to be recooked, causing the rest of us to finish our meals before it arrived. Additionally, despite the cold weather (7 degrees and raining), the manager left the double doors open while packing away umbrellas, allowing cold air to blow directly at our table. When we requested them to close the doors, they seemed reluctant and continued to pack up around us, giving us the impression that they wanted us to leave. Furthermore, they tried to clear our plates before everyone had finished eating, which was quite off-putting. To add to our disappointment, the manager, Dan, was very arrogant and rude when we addressed our concerns with him. In fact, he told me he doesn't control the weather! We have been regular patrons of Squires Loft, but based on this experience, we will not be returning and will not recommend it to others. With the abundance of restaurants in Melbourne offering excellent service and hospitality, there's no reason to settle for subpar experiences like this.? Sad, really. Because we used to come...
Read moreWent there on Saturday night, I was happy to go there again as my first few times everything was good , service, food was delicious, but as for the Saturday , service was not as previous times, the table had no cutlery for all of us, we asked for cutlery and serviets and we asked one of the waitresses who couldn't be stuffed to bring some , she came back with some different small serviets, not that it mattered that much , but she said that it's all she could find and cutlery was again not brought to the table. We ordered our meal and had to wait for over an hour to be served, I ordered angus eye fillet 300 g medium rare. I cut the steak and it didn't look too good, it wasn't cooked as I recommended it, once I tried it the steak was like eating cardboard. The sad part is that the person I spoke to , apparently the manager on the night used an excuse saying we were way too busy and only happened to few on the night. Well that's not a good enough excuse , these things should not happen when customer pays over $70 for a 300 b steak with 1 potato, even the potatoe didn't look like it was cooked right . I was offered another meal by the waitress but I wasn't going to wait there for another hour. So very disappointing and I gave them 2 stars, which they didn't even deserve that. Should've taken a photo of the bad steak so I can post it here , but I was so angry and disappointed, I totally forgot Never...

FIRST IMPRESSION: Greeted very warmly by young man at desk. I had read before in a previous review, that a couple had to be put upstairs as there table downstairs was still occupied. So when we arrived tonight, I mentioned this to our friendly staff member. However he said we will have to put you upstairs but I will put you next to the fireplace Which he did. Although, he failed to tell us the fireplace was only for show. It was so cold we kept our Jackets ON. The real heat was coming from a split system on the wall which was barely heating itself, never mind the rest of the room. Waitress put the heat up but still cold. Pre dinner Drinks took 14 mins to arrive. Only a Beer and a Brandy...no fancy cocktails to blend or make up......Slow.
THE MEAL: Steaks were cooked to satisfaction, Eye Fillet Rare and Med/rare. Veggies ok. However felt nearly $5 For a an accompanying sauce ( Peppercorn) was a bit rich, No pun intended. Wine well over priced more than 150% mark up on retail price of Gnarly Dudes Shiraz 2017. So.....to clarify.
2 Pre Dinner Drinks. 2 Main steaks with veggies 1 bottle shiraz 2 Desserts 2 Coffees $220.00........Value for money 5/10. SERVICE: Good........7/10 OVERALL IMPRESSION: GOOD BUT OVER PRICED, TOILETS DIRTY, UNISEX TOILET DOESN'T HELP.......MEN AND WOMEN SHARING IS NOT GOOD.......THE SEAT UP AND SPILLAGE.
COLD ATMOSPHERE, NOT JUST...
