Superdays Coffee — Restaurant in Melbourne

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and it has recieved great reviews and high ratings. Visited last Wednesday ordered a coffee and mushroom toastie. Coffee was superb but toastie was a major let down :( At first I thought wow what a generous serving of mushrooms, however they were sliced way too chunky for a toastie and they had put so much in there it wasn't pleasant biting into so many mushrooms especially as they were only warm around the edges of the toastie. I was expecting warm mushrooms all the way through however they were cold as I bit my way through, which ruined it for me. I ended up taking out most of the mushroom and just had the bread and cheese. I understand I came close to closing time and was grateful to be served. Although ingredients are pre prepared to serve customers quickly....cold thick mushrooms in a warm toastie...

Not sure what happened to their signature Chicken Sandwich. Last time I had it (6 months ago) they were Asian owners the chicken mix was white & delicious. This time with the new Indian owners, the chicken mix was yellow. WAY too much mustard in the mix making it very difficult to enjoy. Ease up on the mustard. It overpowered the chicken mix. It's like they blitzed it in a blender making the mix soggy & liquified it like babyfood, it was a completely awful mess. Imagine that between 2 slices of fresh bread & a lettuce leaf. Should of asked for a straw. Only 3 other patrons were there & the male barista "forgot" to make the coffee I paid for. Won't be returning. It has gone downhill from the previous ladies who knew how to make a simple delicious chicken sandwich complete with excellent...

Excellent coffee, and stand out vibe and service. Soon as you walk in, you are greeted (eye contact) with a smile and hello, and even by the regulars who are there! Staff and customers will say hello. It's a very close community and very welcoming. I stayed for some hours, with my laptop for some writing, and saw the waves of busy times - mums and kids popping in, workers in the morning, then teachers and kids, then,...well, the neighbourhood just pops in at some point. Very nice place. Not ideal to concentrate and 'work' with coffee and food, but the loveliest friendliest vibe you can find in Melbourne. OH, and the BEST music to my taste : Motown, R&B, chilled funky music, not too loud. A cool...
