The taste is ok like all Sushi Jiro. -1 star for service. -1 for providing the smallest portion among all Sushi Jiro. -1 for not knowing the complete ingredient list for Udon.

Went here with my partner and my sis. Stand at the front door for 2 min straight without anyone talking to us while 3-4 waiters/waitress staring at us doing nothing. What are they thinking?? The portion is much smaller than what melb central Sushi Jiro provides. Ordered fried chicken udon. The Japanese fried tofu and seaweed were missing. Told the waitress about this. She couldn't understand what I said so she asked another waiter. I told the waiter the Udon was missing the two ingredients. He couldn't understand what I said and sent the udon straight to the kitchen. Minutes later, got udon back with fried tofu but seaweed was still missing. Didn't bother to ask for that again since they have no idea what should be in the udon. It was even written on their system. This is the first Sushi Jiro serving udon without complete ingredients among all that I went.

What can I say? Lots of things can be...

We are actually the regular customer of sushi jiro. We love to come here. Unfortunately, we got very bad service experience today when we visit this afternoon. While we finished choosing our sushi and go for payment, the man (Guess he is the Manager or the person in charge) which in charge the payment counter, never said or reply anything to us, even we said Hi to him. He never said how much does everything cost, please tap on the machine when you ready. He just stood there and looking at us without saying anything. We bought quite a few boxes of sushi, he just put on the side and wait us to take and leave the shop. We asked for a bag so that it’s easy for us to carry all the sushi boxes, but he seems like not really happy with it, and just put the bag on the table, means to ask us to pack everything by ourself ??? What a rude customer service you had ? You are a good sushi franchise with this such a worst customer service which like never been trained well ???? Such DISSAPOINTED !!!! Thanks for making your regular...

Excellent staff, nice set up and a large selection of dishes. The fish is very fresh and pricing is very clear. You are looking at $3.80 for a standard dish and can go up to $7.90 depending on what you order. We find that per head you spend around $25-$30 which is excellent. There is a 10% public holiday surcharge. The staff are lovely and polite. The only thing I don't like about the place is that a lot of sushi and nigiri options are not traditional Japanese and they are doused in cheese sauce, spicy sauce, teriyaki sauce, mayonnaise, etc. Definitely not authentic Japanese fare. They are not the only ones that do it and it's more about the sushi train places in Melbourne in general. Cheese sauce is never a good option and something I've never seen in Japan. Their inari sushi is also super sweet and I didn't like the lobster inari at all, all I could taste was the sweet sauce which was sickly. If you just stick to the normal standard and aburi options without sauce, you...

Nestled in the heart of the city in QV shopping centre is Sushi Jiro. This Japanese restaurant serves a variety of sushi, salads, sashimi, desserts and hot dishes on an ever rotating sushi train! You can also sit on a regular table if you wish, but the train is too fun for me to resist. The row on the sushi train has a couple of iPads you can use to order drinks and special dishes as well. The sushi was all very fresh and flavoursome. My favourite was the Aburi Teri Mayo Whole Prawn Nigiri, with its yummy sauce and pretty presentation. The Octopus salad was also a highlight with it crunchy bamboo shoots, it was a well balanced dish. Janeca also tried the Tiramasu mochi and chocolate cake, both delicious. The service in this restaurant was very good. They know the menu well and can answer all questions. They have baby chairs too, great family friendly restaurant. We had a great time here, so if you’re looking for Japanese food in the city, I’d recommend visiting Sushi Jiro.

Remember In 2019 walking into this place and walking out in awe, coming back every 1-2 weeks. Since Covid this place has been on a rapid decline , last night drew the final straw place has died and just sucks. Would be days where I’d walk out on Tetsujin to come here because the food quality was immaculate. Your regular Sushi Train taste better than this place nowadays. Service: Probably the only thing comparable to 2019. Staff are still nice and welcoming on arrival. (Excluding kitchen staff) Food: cheaping out on ingredients really makes a difference in how the food tastes nowadays along with their lack effort into making the custom ordered dishes. Compared to back then where they put quality and soul into the dish. Photo: This dish back then fresh and flavourful and you knew dinner/lunch was complete with it. Last night it was made with 0 effort and days old nachos that were dry and not crispy Tasted no where near the flavours we got from the 2019 dish.
