Going here in a few years and I hope I’m not left disappointed like open day. Open day wasn’t bad per se but it felt repetitive. I want to do engineering and I expect the lecture to teach me something about engineering but I was left with “Teamwork” “Problem solving skills” the stuff you get told in primary school basically. I enjoyed the mini games snd the free giveaways like keychains and hoodies. I played the 4g internet game and the architecture game. I took many photos with the awesome F1 car too. Overall I give it 4/5 until I actually enrol here.

The RMIT campus is right on the top of QV building. If your walking around it can be a bit hard to find if you don't look up. Just look for Domayne furniture and you'll find it above. It's my daughter's first year here and she loves it.

Only care about money, staff are disrespectful towards students & do NOT know how to teach their students the relevant courses in some cases (Ms Esposito in particular) & Finally overall very unorganised and unprofessional.

DO NOT BOTHER, not worth the hassle. I wasted 3,5 years for an X RAY degree I DID NOT OBTAIN a few years back. The course was outdated and we were not taught practicals properly. I was always sent to MIA radiology clinics with bad reviews to be set up for failure. Local Lecturers were racist towards students with an Indian background. I think lecturers are pressured to fail a few International students to obtain more money. I was NOT an International student and I am NOT from India but the racist ITALIAN Australian lecturer would not accept it because I did not grow up here or have the Australian accent. This is a migrant country, so people need to be educated on that. Lecturers would not take student concerns seriously. I encountered bullying and racism as well as my assessments were not done on those placements but the racist ITALIAN Australian lecturer name started with R would not hear of it and EXCLUDED me from the course, this is a trap because they want students to come back to pay more money, so she knew what she was doing, but it was racism of course. The course was run like a business than an educational facility as most students in my class were White and Oriental with few Brown skinned people. They looked at students names because there were Sri Lankans and Egyptians of Brown skin in my class and the White Female staff were fond of them, it was just Indians they disliked. I am upset because there was favouritism and bias because when I complained about racism on my placements, this ITALIAN Australian coordinator/lecturer told me that it was a serious statement to make, now I originally came from a Western country where people of colour were oppressed like myself and denied opportunities such as education, so I know what racism is. The course was also dodgy because an elderly female student in my class who was struggling in the beginning said that we got the same test questions as another UNI offering the same course every semester, she circulated the questions but I did not give me, although it would be an ethical issue for me, so who knows how many students passed simply because of that. This lady graduated and I found out that a few students lost their internship upon graduating because they did not know how to use the old system for taking X-rays, they had to wait the following year for another one. I now have a huge HECS debt and had to study something else, I have been UNEMPLOYED for 6 years, thanks to this horrible UNI who does not care about students futures. So basically I was scammed out of money. The department restructured after I left with new staff and is now a 4 year degree, this ITALIAN Australian lecturer is now working as an MRI Tech at the Austin Florey, she also embarrassed me in front of another lecturer still working in industry by having her sit in on our conversation for my second failure. A horrible and racist UNI, wish I read the reviews before coming here. Do not bother making complaints, nothing gets done, lecturers still keep their jobs and they still send students to those horrible clinics for placements because there is not enough clinical placements.

More info: Studying here was most stressful, I would really have liked to work as an X-Ray Tech, they were happy to take the money but treated me badly. I am 39 years old and this was a career change, thanks to this racist ITALIAN lecturer, I have not been able to see my elderly parents for 6 years back in my native country because I need money to do so. Do not study here, lecturers pick and choose who they consider local and foreign, I am an Australian Citizen but always have to prove this. The way I was treated at this UNI and on placements would not be tolerated where I am from. They also play the blame game on students. I studied something else because I did not know what to do and I am struggling for a job. If you value yourselves do...

Okay these the things that forced me to give 1 star: 1- Student Connect staff are always late to their appointments. They assign waiting time for you for an inquiry and they are always late 10-30 mins. 2- Student Connect do not know what they say. Some times they tell you something not true, or sometimes they just do not have the proper training to answer basic inquiries. Study rooms do not have air conditioner and are dirty. No one cleans them regularly. In some of these rooms, they do not have functioning equipment inside. 3- When you email a teacher for any inquiry the most common response is that we are busy and we can not reply to you by email. When you go to class, they say we do not have time to answer your questions. When you go to consultation session, they do not show up. 4- Teachers are always late to release grades. There is a policy at RMIT to release grades within 10 working days and not one single teacher complies to that policy. Double standards right? Do not be surprised if you also got accused for plagiarism and they will tell you that this is the policy and you have to comply to it.(Surely if they were to comply with the policies that they are supposed to comply with, it would have been fair). 5- Do not expect that you will get instant support. It is a marketing myth that you see on the website and on social media. There is no support, the only one that will support you is you. RMIT will either make you wait for days to get back to you or will not provide support and will direct you to your teachers in which they also are always busy and do not have time to support you. 6- Do you not think that teachers actually break the academic integrity policy when they give unofficial extra chances to some students and some students they do not? It is up to you when you ask your classmates and hear surprising incidents happen when teachers break academic integrity policy. 7- Oh yeah what about the most important thing which is education? Well, that itself is a question of whether the amount of money you pay is equivalent to the education you get. It is up to you to give feedback on that. My total experience is that I am frustrated consistently and always confused by the workload and the amount of information that needs to be comprehended in short time without support by...

I studied an online course through this university and for the longest time I've debated if I should even write a review but I've decided I should. There were a few bumps along the way like modules not working, code in the modules not running, no next button on pages, difficulty submitting assessment and code as the buttons didn't work etc. During my course no one even believed me until week 7. This was very frustrating but luckily I had collected screenshots and evidence. It felt like I was the first person to actually sit through the course and do it, like no one even tested it before I used it. It wasn't functioning correctly and the user interface was frustrating and most of the links in the induction and the course didn't actually work.

For me the biggest issue was privacy. This university accesses your device camera and microphone. This was a huge concern for me and there were other people present and listening that were not directly introduced but present. This is completely illegal and I don't think they should be allowed to do so. Test it while the lecture is doing his thing and students don't have their camera or microphone on say something, doing something to test it. I noticed it because I sneezed and the lecturer said what happened and I thought how the heck is he hearing me right now when my camera and microphone are off. After that day I continued to find out the extent of their personal invasion into students lives.

While searching their website while being logged in I also stumbled across a complete log of my internet history including banking, sites I visited etc. They had monitored everything I did on my laptop. That's absolutely disgusting.

I stopped studying with them for the above reasons. What are they collecting, where is it being stored, who has access to it and why are they doing this? I decided this place wasn't for me.

Edit: one of the lecturers smoked a bong after a class online session. Which changed the culture of the class. Students also started to smoke and not wear pants during class sessions. Group work was...
