Tacos 'N' Tequilas Elsternwick — Restaurant in Melbourne

Sadly this place was a let down, was expecting good things looking at the reviews but sadly it did not get close to meeting expectations, so thought I should put it out there. The drinks were excellent, but the good parts stop there. Staff were friendly but not responsive, food took a very very long time to come out and was strangely staggered (some of us had finished our main before others got theirs). The dishes were very very dissapointing unfortunately, overpriced, and there are much better Mexican places out there. The atmosphere was cool but would not go back - I don’t like giving negative reviews but I was dissapointed to have spent so much money at this place. Other than our general dissapointment one of the girls also found a plastic sticker in her food (told staff but not sure if this was passed on - she was hoping for an apology or explanation at the time but unfortunately didn’t...

I loathe to write a review which is not 5 stars. And I had high expectations and felt for great Mexican food, thought alright I’ll pay extra as I really wanted quac, some meat on my nachos and extra cheese. I emphasised extra cheese and commented “can never have too much cheese!”. I also advised I need gluten free, and no raw onion or raw tomato. This would typically lead to a quick convo to confirm as to be sure of ingredients and whether they were appropriate for me. I was so disappointed! I opened the lid and it was a mess of a mound of quac with a great load of raw onion, masses of corn, and so very little cheese! Why?? The pulled lamb was nice. Recommended this place by a friend; lovely atmosphere first and foremost!

It was a little busy and crowded when we went, but not too bad.

For how busy it seemed there on a Saturday night, the wait times were actually pretty reasonable.

Food was fantastic! Entrees we’re maybe a bit pricey, but tasted great. The mains themselves are very cheap for the price however. I personally had the chicken burger, which honestly I would’ve loved to pay less for a bit less chicken; you’d think they put nearly a whole chicken in it!

Mocktails there are also very nice, so good options if you don’t drink alcohol.
