Review: Tanoor Bakery – A Hidden Gem of Authentic Middle Eastern Flavour Tanoor Bakery stands out as a true hidden gem, offering some of the most authentic and flavourful Middle Eastern baked goods in the region. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked flatbreads, za’atar, and perfectly spiced meats that immediately set the tone for a genuine cultural experience. Their manakish—especially the za’atar and cheese varieties—are crisped to perfection, with just the right balance of softness and char from the tanoor oven. The meat pies and spinach pastries are equally satisfying, each bite packed with flavour and baked with care. The quality of ingredients is clearly evident, and the preparation feels both traditional and homemade. What sets Tanoor Bakery apart is not just the food, but the friendly, down-to-earth service. Staff are knowledgeable and welcoming, offering recommendations and treating every customer like a regular. Prices are fair, portions generous, and the consistency is impressive. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite, catering for a family gathering, or simply craving a taste of tradition, Tanoor Bakery delivers every time. It's not flashy—but it doesn’t need to be. This is food that speaks for itself. Highly recommended for lovers of authentic Middle Eastern cuisine.

Went for breakfast and ordered a Knafeh (string pastry) 2 cheese calzones, one meat and one open cheese. First, the service, or lack of it. The girl was doing something on the touch screen for quite sometime and didn’t bother to acknowledge me or say “Sorry, I wont be long” so I stood there waiting to order. She then sighed and finally asked what I wanted with a manner that made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. After giving my order the wait was 20 ish mins. They do make the Knafeh from scratch so thats fine. When I got home and opened the boxes, I realised I was given the Knafeh French Toast and NOT the string pastry 🥲 It takes 15 mins to get to Tanoor, there is a 20 min wait for food and 15 min drive home. The food was really good, including the Knafeh French Toast (its served with vanilla ice-cream and syrupy rosewater). So now I need to go back and try again for the Knafeh String Pastry. I will point out that I don’t want the French Toast 😅

Headed out here for a weekend start, unaware that we were in for a decadent encounter with cheese, bread and various other breakfast delicacies. All of which seem a staple of the middle eastern diet, indulgent and uninhibited, and oblivious to a future chance of coronary heart disease. Fearless is how I would describe the clientele of this little eatery. Sure, the toilet door remains open in full view of the dining area as others have mentioned, but there is a small passage in between. The delays in the serving of our piping hot appetizers and the main breakfast left us perturbed but the staff were quick to strike it off our bill as compensation. They are open limited hours and off on Tuesdays. Ample parking space but can get crowded on weekends as everyone tries to take a leap towards their eventual demise be way of eating unhealthy but definitely mouth wateringly tasty breakfast. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.

I recently visited this restaurant on a Saturday and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. While the bread was decent, the rest of the food didn’t live up to expectations for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine. The hummus lacked flavour, the fried chicken was below average, and the Chicken Fajita sauce was overly sauced.

The ambience also left much to be desired, as the air conditioning wasn’t working, making it uncomfortably hot inside. Overall, the experience didn’t feel worth the money spent.

That said, if you’re unfamiliar with traditional Middle Eastern flavours, you might find the menu interesting. I hope the management takes this feedback on board to improve for future customers.

I understand you’re Lebanese (and please don’t take this as an offensive or racist remark), but the food doesn’t taste like authentic Lebanese cuisine to me. Up until last year, I was regularly having breakfast at various Lebanese restaurants in the Middle East. Based on that experience—having enjoyed authentic Middle Eastern food consistently over a long period, not just as a one-off—it doesn’t quite compare.

This isn’t meant to offend, but from my perspective, there’s a noticeable difference. I honestly think it might be worth revisiting your menu or refining your taste testing. Of course, it’s entirely up to you whether you take this feedback on board or not!

Thank you for taking the time to consider...

The service was below average from all the staff. Very unfriendly and unwelcoming. The main girl at the counter (fake lashes and tattooed eyebrows) needs to be let go of, I don't know how she still has a job here. None of the staff really smiled.

We arrived late in the day so there weren't many food options left in the pantry, so we ordered one item from their pantry and two from dinner menu. All food was average. But the wait time was horrendous. The pantry item took about half an hr to arrive. After another half an hr, one item from the menu order arrived. After about another half hr we realized others who arrived after us had received all their meals. I went to the counter to ask and it appeared they had missed our second item. The man in the kitchen gave an apologetic smile as the waitress explained what had happened. Waitress apologized and said they'll get it straight away. Food arrived within 5min. The restaurant was very quiet at this point.

I don't know who the owners are but they must be only hiring family members to end up with such a chaotic and poorly...
