I really wanted to give Taso’s in Thornbury 5 stars. The ambiance is wonderful, the staff awesome. Breakfast was delicious, we had the eggs florentine & yiayia’s eggs with beans. The coffee sublime.

You can have a coffee, an aperitif, lunch, breakfast or just cake. Eat in, dine outside or takeaway. It’s just lovely. BUT!

We drove all the way from Southbank just to get some cakes & biscuits. We ended up having breakfast as well, which was excellent.

I excitedly bought to takeaway the half moon biscuits, simply because I have had Tasos biscuits many times, my husbands boss Harris used to buy them for me.

I also purchased The baklava and cheese cake with blackberries.

The biscuits ok and cheesecake was nice but the baklava was Awful šŸ˜ž really stale or something it was soggy to the point it collapsed in my hands both pieces ended in the bin, I took one bite and actually spat it out! I have never spat out a baklava in my life.

I’ve eaten baklava a thousand times from a thousand different sources & I will never understand why vendors continue to sell it when it’s become stale or overtly soggy! I know a great baklava when I taste it and this unfortunately was not good. Very disappointing. I have in the past asked vendors when their product was baked, often they take offence. In this instance I should of asked.

Driving home I said to my husband what a great place let’s go back in two weeks, that was before I tasted...

This is an absolute gem of a cafƩ and totally deserving of the 5 stars, star number 1 is for the staff who have exceptional customer service skills, star number two is for the ambiance it has a cosy eclectic blended style of traditional and modern. Star number 3 is for the incredible range of cakes, pastries and treats that not only look good but also taste amazing. Star number 4 was for the great location. And number start number 5 is for it being my new favourite cafƩ...

I searched for a healthier orange cake to purchase and couldn't find anything in Melbourne until I came across Taso's Cafe! Exquisite orange cake, moist and firm and, you can tell they have used a lot of oranges! Flourless too, an added bonus. It was for my partner's birthday and he absolutely loved it! 'They nailed it', he said, haha. Friendly service, good coffee and a lovely vegetarian focaccia, feeling satisfied! Thank you Taso's - you...

What an excellent little coffee shop. Heaps of yummy treats to choose from. The owner, John, is such a sweetheart. I came in on my birthday and treated myself to a delicious lemon meringue tart and coffee. And he very generously shouted me the tart! His kindness was such a nice birthday surprise! Thank you, John. First time customer, but I’ll be back for sure.

When it comes to coffee and cakes there’s no better stop. You walk into a super clean family run business with over 30 + years experience. Oh boy it doesn’t disappoint. It has a huge range of traditional Greek cakes . With inside and outside seating to suit the weather conditions. I’m a custard fan and the fruit flan is to die for . Amazing šŸ˜€a must
