My son and I just moved to Abbotsford 2 weeks ago to be close to work. We decided to try the Terminus to cebrate my birthday. Absolutely rude and unprofessional bar tender. The blonde guy with the long hair was great, but the scruffy short haired unshaven guy was rude and dissrespectful from the moment we walked in. My 18 year old son and I were there to meet about 8 other friends for a for my birthday that was supposed to be a positive fun night. We were both completely sober when we walked in as we litterally finished work together 30 minutes prior. As we walked in, there were no patrons at the bar, and scruffy bartendender pouring a single pint. We walked up to the bar and the bartender looked at us and said g'day. My son, who has only ever been to a pub twice, asked for a pint of larger and a bourbon and coke. The response we got was astounding. Rather than saying, "just serving a customer on the other side" he spoke with extreme attitude, not even looking at us and said, "yeah i might get your drinks when i have finished serving another customer". He then walked to a bar on the other side closest to the dining area which we were unaware about. After a long period of time, I watched the bartender continuously serve customers that walked up to the bar after we did. We eventually got our drinks, with attitude I might add. We sat down and ordered food and waited for our other friends to arrive. Given that our friends were running late, we ended up eating prior to their arrival. The food was better than the poor service from the rude bartender. After our dinner and only 1 drink, we decided to text our friends to meet at another bar. The experience and service we received from another 2 bars in short walking distance from the Terminus that night, was a far better experience for us all. Note to anyone who wants to relax and have a pint or celerbrate a special occasion in the Abbotsford area. There are plenty of better bars around Abbotsford. I strongly recommend you visit the Park Hotel, the National, the CUB or...
Read moreWe love this pub but tonight they disappointed to a point where we just won't be back. We reserved a table for dinner. We arrived on time, ordered and paid for food and drink at the bar, taking our beers to the table, we waited for food. No sign of food after 30 minutes so chased it up with bar staff. Another 15 minutes, no sign of our order and no communication from the staff as to what happened to our order or when we might see it. Chased it again. A full hour after ordering, we asked for a refund and an explanation. We were refunded with the explanation being the kitchen didn't recieve the order. Fine. But tell us that the first time we ask, not when we're leaving. Mistakes happen, orders go missing. We understand. But a little up front, honest communication goes a long way. Really disappointed in the poor service from a customer-centric business who apparently has zero interest in meeting basic customer needs. To the Terminus team, do better. Engage with your customers, acknowledge mistakes and make an effort to ensure a simple lost dinner order doesn't turn into a 1 star review. If you're reading this review, there are loads of other places to spend your time and money who'll be happy to...
Read moreCame to Terminus Hotel Abbotsford specifically for their Parma & Steak night — and honestly, the parma blew me away. Massive, juicy piece of chicken, perfectly crumbed and full of flavour. Tried both the classic and Mexican versions — and both slapped. The Mexican came stacked with guac, sour cream and all the good stuff, while the classic held its own as a legit pub favourite. Props to the chef that day — absolutely nailed it.
The steak was solid too for $25. Good value. Nice thick cut, cooked well. The thinner edge got a bit chewy (as expected), but can’t complain at that price point.
Also, massive shoutout to the legend running the floor solo — super attentive and on the ball despite being the only one out there. Respect.
Definitely coming back — even just...
