In general, coffee was alright but subpar customer service.
Details: There was no one there to accept orders, even though I had been standing at the counter for almost a minute. At that time, there were two female staff who feigned not to see me, continuing to engage in chatters right beside the coffee maker (next to the counter). Only when summoned by their male staff (likely their manager; who was completely fine) did these two female staff return to the counter to take my order.
The lady staff with tanner skin behind the desk wasn't even proficient in proper communication in any shops. This staff didn't have any sense of apologies as if I and the other customers who just came behind me were the culprit who interrupted her chatters. When I started my convo with her in saying I wanted to redeem one of the coupons as a TCC member, what she gave me was complete confusion in saying "You need to order first". What does that mean when I stepped straight in and was there to make an order already? For context, the coupon didn't specify any other conditions than purchasing coffee at a discounted price. That is explain this lady was completely in her own head space when being on duty (aka daydreamer).
Weekends are meant to be the days that generate the most revenue for any hospitality business. It would be a pity if these female staff seemingly without proper training were put on duty for your store TCC, causing disastrous...
Read moreThird visit for breakfast this morning. On the previous two occasions the food had been quite good whilst ironically the coffee had been very ordinary.
Having learnt from past experience ordered hot chocolate to go with breakfast today. The drinks were just ok but the food was verging on inedible.
It's really hard to muck up bacon with poached eggs on toast but they did it.
The poached eggs were the texture of 8 minute hard boiled eggs, the bacon nearly raw and the bread had been waved over some heat , just enough to make it taste like lightly warmed stale bread.
When the waitress came to take my largely untouched plate away, she asked if anything was wrong and I politely explained what the issues which were fairly obvious to anyone just looking at the plate.
She then returned with a complimentary voucher for a coffee on my next visit. ...
Not wishing to raise a fuss, I simply left with the voucher for their awful coffee remaining on the table.
Given the obvious poor state of the meal, I would have thought a full refund or at least a complimentary voucher for a replacement meal, giving them the opportunity to show that this was a once off mistake, would have been in order.
Apparently they are not in the business of retaining customers. ......
Will never go there again now and would recommend anyone else give this place...
Read moreWe were craving the sweet potato chips but they were out of them. My friend said their normal chips are not nice but we had little choice at that point and ordered a bowl. She was right they were flowery, no crisp and pretty tasteless and unappetizing. I politely let the waiter know that perhaps they should change their supplier or the way they cook them but I would say they are of poor quality. The vegetarian pastry with white cheese and vegetables was very nice. The coffee sadly was not good. Given that it's called The Coffee Club my friend expected better. The atmosphere was nice. The staff were obliging. The vegetable pastry was rather cold a we had to send back it to be heated further. My friend had experienced this previously. It's a shame as it was a very tasty but barely lukewarm and even when we sent it back to be reheated it wasn't piping hot like it should be. I think it's hit and miss but...
