The Coffee Club Cafe - The Glen — Restaurant in Melbourne

THANK YOU so much to the absolutely AMAZING Glen Coffee Club team - including the waitresses, cashiers, baristas, chefs, kitchen hands and their manager Harry - for absolutely EVERYTHING during our most recent visit last Friday 12/09/2025, we are extremely happy with all of it!

So sorry to all of them, I had been meaning to type up and post this latest 5-star Google review so much sooner - I have no excuse - but I promise both my friend/godfather Peter and I (I decided to shout him, it was the least I could do, I offered to shout his friend Ken who met up with us but Ken already have eaten and drunk) are nothing less than 100% grateful for the food, drink, service and atmosphere we enjoyed! Deepest apologies to them that I had to delete my previous 5-star Google review to make way for this new one but I have screenshotted it and included both screenshots as well as photo of our food with this new review.

THANK YOU so much to Peter letting me use his Senior Card so I can get the 10% discount off the total bill and THANK YOU so much to Glen Coffee Club for giving me that 10% discount even though I am not the holder of the Senior Card. Deeply grateful to you all! I ordered our food and drink at the counter, paying up front with cash and placing the change I received into the tip cup next to the register, they 100% deserve it as always!

I paid at around 10:40am, the total bill after the 10% Senior Card discount was $44.35...absolutely STOKED especially because the total bill it would have come to $49.30 which still is truly exceptional value for food and drink of such a high calibre in terms of how tasty, filling and presentable it all is!

Peter had the poached eggs on sourdough toast and a regular strawberry milkshake while I had the bacon and eggs (scrambled) on sourdough toast and a large coffee protein smoothie...our highest compliments to the chefs, kitchen staff and baristas on all of it - thank you for them to all of them for making it all so fast and so well - toast was crispy and beautifully buttered, both the poached and scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, the dill was such a nice tasty touch and the bacon was flawlessly fried and flavoursome! Strawberry milkshake was creamy and refreshing with lovely fresh strawberry flavour and the coffee protein smoothie nicely pairs banana and coffee flavour with protein powder! We both were filled up and enjoyed it all tremendously!

And our waitresses and cashiers were so nice and friendly, and as always the atmosphere of the place was so lovely and relaxing! Peter and I very highly recommend Glen Coffee Club, especially if you are craving the highest quality best value for money breakfast food and beverages...their lunches and dinners also are a must try as are all their different beverages!

I sincerely hope that this feedback will help the owners/managers improve. It was indeed a very bad experience to have gone here for brunch yesterday morning. With two hungry kids, we ordered food and coffee. 35 minutes in, I finally got my long black coffee (a long black is just hot water and coffee, can't take that long...), 50 minutes in, we received half of my breakfast (bacon and egg) with no bacon, and I was told the other half of my breakfast will arrive later!? What's incredible is that there were no cutleries, as I am not accustomed to eat with my hands so I asked the waiting staff, including the lady that looked like the manager/franchisee that I need a set of cutley, I was told that they will get some for me, but apparently they have ran out of cutleries!? Instead of trying to find some, I was basically forgotten as they all went about doing other things, all whilst I can only be staring at my half-breakfast which is pretty much stone cold at this point. The kids were famished and getting restless asking for the whereabouts of their food... then finally they arrived. Eventually, the bacon part of my bacon and eggs arrived along with the extra egg I ordered. The fish and chips ordered for the kids was ok, but the pancakes were pale and almost anemic, so my kids refused to eat it. As for my half and half breakfast, let's begin with the toast, it looks small and pale, and it looks pretty stale and dried out and un-toasted, so I didn't bother eating it. Almost every other cafe I go to, they would serve a portion of butter, but there was none to be seen on the plate, and let's not even mention food presentation, absolutely no thoughts was put into that department. The poached eggs were ok, but it's probably the smallest sized egg one can get, and yes the yolks were hard like a rock, so most likely they have been cooking on the stove for as long as we were there. Finally, the sides I ordered, the smashed avocado was basically a small spoonful in a tiny recyclable paper thing, and mushrooms looked like tiny shreds left at the bottom of a container, and as an added bonus, the mushrooms had no taste. In summary, it wasn't worth the time nor the money, I should have just cancelled the whole order, stood up and go elsewhere instead. In all fairness, I can see the staff were innudated, it's not their fault for the bad dining experience, but the manager/owner should be running the place, and not be focused on making coffees and ignoring the only job they should be doing: which is to Manage the running of the cafe, ensuring everything is running smoothly, manage customer expectations when they order, helping out with any bottlenecks in the kitchen, check if all tickets have been worked on, look at the quality of the food being served, and finally, act on what the customer need, not simply...

Thank you so much from both my friend/godfather Peter and I to all the staff from the Glen Coffee Club - including the cashiers, wait staff (one of them was named Chenmay so sorry hopefully I spelt his name correctly), baristas, kitchen staff and chefs - for absolutely everything during our most recent visit late in the morning on Friday 10th October 2025 including both the first rate food and drink and first rate service, we are so grateful, everyone who served us was so nice and so was everything we ordered!

Kudos in particular to Chenmay for chatting to us and one of the waitresses for getting us salt and pepper the moment she noticed us looking for it, thank you so much to both of them, we appreciate it all a lot!

And although I was the one paying - it was the least I can do after all Peter did for me - they still were happy to let me use Peter's Senior Card to get the 10% discount...the tip I have them from the change they all totally deserve!

So sorry to Chenmay and all the staff of the Glen Coffee Club for how late this extremely well deserved 5-star Google review is, I have no excuse no matter how occupied I was these last few days after our latest visit to them, and so sorry to them I had to delete my previous 5-star Google review to make way for this new one but I did screenshot previous said review and uploaded them with this new review along with pics of what we ordered!

We both had Bacon And Eggs On Sourdough Toast - both of us had scrambled eggs - goes without saying, the absolute best bacon and eggs breakfast we could evee have with the nicest crisp buttered sourdough toast with a spring of herbs on top! Deepest compliments to the chefs and kitchen staff thanks a lot to them! And our Large Coffee Protein and Large Vanilla Protein Smoothie were so refreshing and delicious, further filling us up on top of how satisfying our food was!

Thank you so much too to manager Harry for how well he runs this place - so sorry to him too for how late this review is - credit to him too as well as all the staff. He and his staff deserve every reward and acknowledgement from Coffee Club Australia for once again as always going above and beyond to provide Peter and I with absolutely stellar food, drink and servive! Very highly recommended everyone has breakfast and lunch at the Glen Coffee Club, you will absolutely love it especially their bacon and eggs and smoothies (and I am so sorry again for how late this Google review is I have no excuse but I promise my friend/godfather Peter and I are nothing less than 100% grateful to you for all the aforementioned food, drink...
